Pub on the canal. Slightly out of town. Usual food grub, well served with friendly staff.
nice garden and play area for children. The pub gets a little rowdy every now and again, but overall a nice place. Food was great large portions and at a low price of 2 for £9.
Under new owners, had a lovely meal and with homemade chips! reasonably priced food in a nice setting by the canal. Owners were lovely and super friendly will definitely be back. Thanks!
Beautiful place where you can have your meal/drinks by the canal! There is a place in the gardens for children to play! Although we didn't eat there, the Sunday dinner looked absolutely delicious!!!!
The Dover Lock Inn,, Advertises as a family pub with a good atmosphere, me and my partner went with our 3 son's and the oldest lad who is only 12 years old wanted to watch football with his friend inside and the landlord shouted down to us in the beer garden can you tell the "big lad" to come back outside and the thin one can stop inside. so we left felling very unhappy, only to hear on the way home that the landlord and his mate tried to belittle our son inside by asking him are the pizza's any good, refering to his size. i dont think with an attitude like that you can call yourself a family pub. Also when we first arrived we had to wait 25 minutes to be served as there was only one guy behind the bar trying to serve drinks and take orders for food. We have just moved in near by and will not be going back in a rush.
Called to meet friends who live locally and despite the very sticky tables we decided on lunch and wasn't disappointed, the home made real chips were delicious as were the pies Good value for money as well The website needs updating as there were no offers of 2 meals for £10 mentioned and the whole place needs a good clean, the bins in the toilets were overflowing as well
Enjoyed a quiet lunch , v friendly staff , did not have to wait long for meal , had stroll along canal after meal v pleasant walk , sad to say Dover Lock Inn closed at moment , hope it will reopen , would be a shame to see it no longer functionable , as I am sure would the canal barges in that berth up during the summer
Wow that's all I can say about that mixed grill massive portion.. will defo be going there again and great and friendly staff. Nice and warmly welcome with a great Park for the kids
Great little pub with freindly staff and a nice warm atmosphere. Great pint and brilliant food A++++
