Sunday lunch was great. Other opening times for food and food offerings needs looking at. Midweek pie I had was poor. Will go again though and try other offering. Service and staff good.
Friendly pub in the heart of Abram. Good selection of beers, classic “pub grub” Fish & Chips, Etc. Sunday Roast served. Internally pub looks a little tired. But it’s clean, and the staff very polite and pleasant. Ordered Fish & Chips, plus a vegetarian curry. These took just over 45 minutes to be delivered to the table, and the veggie curry was accidentally replaced by a chicken based one. Oops! Another 20 minutes and the veggie curry landed. Half and half with chips and rice. The fish and chips was very good. The veg curry was ok. Rice was cold, and the breads totally un edible. There are only two veggie dishes on the entire menu as set meals. It’s possibly not the best place to bring a veggie. Beer was served cold and fresh. An extra star would of been earned if we hadn’t waited over an hour for food, the rice had been warm, and the naan bread not totally inedible.
Lovely food. The seating area was quiet Friday tea time. I had the steak pie which was nice. I will be returning.
First time visiting the Bucks Head, we enjoyed the Sunday carvery. Service was excellent, food was perfect, a really good plateful of traditional roast and veg, exceptional value.
Ok pub , atmosphere a bit clicky don't really feel welcomed, could be a really good place
The carvery here is 2nd to none. The quality and taste of food is worth so much more than the £8.45 it costs. We asked for a special favour, to have some gravy to take with us for Christmas Dinner to which they helped us out for no cost! To add ontop, the draught beer here is fantastic, pints are reasonably priced but a really good pint, expecially the Birra Morrretti.
Not good, steak tasteless, been frozen and defrosted. I’m a steak eater and that was one of the worst I’ve ever had., I know my steak. Very overpriced & Too many fly’s around landing on our food.
Last minute decision to go for a carvery at the Bucks Head. Didn't book, arrived at 1pm and we were easily seated at a table for two. Ordered 2 medium carveries with beef and pork. Plenty on the plates, just right for us, we cleared our plates not a morsel left. Finished with Apple crumble and custard. We thought the meal was excellent value.
