We had lots of fun here and there is lots to do but what let it down was the accessibility as my husband struggled to get around. Myself and the 2 kids loved all the slides, the lazy river and the hot tubs. The pools were warm and fun.
Went to see Morrissey at Donny Done. Not a very good venue for live music I'm afraid. I don't think I would go again. It's a multi-purpose venue & lacking in atmosphere. Also really poorly laid out which means the view is terrible unless you are at the front. The queues for drinks were crazy - I had to wait 30 minutes to be served. I wouldn't visit again for a gig xxx
Absolutely fantastic place ! My 6 year old didn’t want to leave ! I still think Sandcastle Waterpark in Blackpool is superior for anyone looking for a day out with family but I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wondering if they should visit. The staff were absolutely fabulous , very friendly and would highly recommend this place
This was a grand centre to go swimming at, where the suitably coloured signs provide clear directions to the pool and the staff ensured everyone had entered correctly. A big splash session at the pool is priced cheaply at £7.50 per person and the experience was amazing, featuring three different slides that included a duo one, though my favourite was the red dragon since it was a direct fast slide with epic curves and lighting! Other special areas were the two hot tubs and the outdoor swimming around a replica rock, the latter of which gave the rarity of rapids. The changing rooms were clean, tidy and well-organized with the appropriate facilities, where I made my way to down a spiralling staircase! I was able to pick up a Feast ice lolly at the centre, sold for a reasonable price under £2. Went here for a second time and loved it again, showing the swimming sessions are consistent!
We had a day at the dome! Firstly we went ice skating we had to que up but it was very quick getting in and the que for getting boots was relatively quick aswell. The staff were pleasent. On the rink there were a few catastrophes one young lad get wheeled off in the chair. But the staff on the ice were very quick to respond once made aware of situations and the kids that fell down they were checking they were OK including my youngest he has come out with some war wounds on both elbows. WE had a little snack in the cafe at top 2 young lads serving very friendly happy too assit when needed. food pretty decent and fair prices. Then we qued for swimming! Was very quick going in. Lockers big enough for big bags bonus is you get your money back from locker. There's pleanty of activities in swimming to keep adults and kids of all ages occupied. The slides and pools are well manned. The black slide tho omg I screamed there's a section in it that I felt like I had took off and none of my body was attached to the slide and let out a mighty yelp. Overall ace day we all enjoyed it and kids can't wait to go back.
Great day out with three generations. Kids loved all the water slides- so much longer than they were expecting. Plenty of changing rooms and lockers with lots of room inside for the whole family. Life guards around for safety. Stopped off in The Icebreaker for lunch. Good value with plenty of choice. Great service from Claire- friendly, cheerful, helpful. Well done Claire.
Great experience at the dome, let down by greed. We had prebooked swimming and ice skating, but weren't aware there was extra necessary expenses you have no choice but to buy. First is the penguin you have to rent for children to ice skate; £6 each!!! The 3 we rented were wasted since the children immediately disliked ice skating. No problem thought we, they can go to soft play which is conveniently located just outside the ice rink. £4.50 each!!! £31.50 extra is like another day out with nothing to show for it but hatred in exchange for a child's happiness. Very sneaky dome, very sneaky. And that sneakiness left a bitter taste in our mouths. In better news, swimming was a blast and will be the sole reason we return. Clean facilities, great array of slides, great staff and lifeguards too who are really on the ball and ensure everyone is safe. And best of all, no strings attached!
Place itself deserves 4 stars as it is not bad. Good ice skate area, small indoor play area for kids and decent swimming pools with slides for all ages. It could be nice day out but staff that worked there 2 girls on tube slides - top and bottom firstly allowed my 5 year old to go on tube slides after 1st time on deeper one my son was told that he can't go on it. So we wanted to go on shallow slide but at the top we have been told he is not allowed to go there to, after going back down we have been told that he is fine on that one just to be told again upstairs that he isn't. We'll thanks to lack of communication and knowledge of staff my day and my kid was not as good.
We attended the dome today to take our daughter ice skating. The price was great at £5 for under 16 including skate hire for 1.5 hours. We bought spectator tickets which were £3 each and included a hot drink so good value too. The staff were all great greeting us on arrival and explaining how everything works. The facility was well maintained, clean and tidy and we all enjoyed it and I am sure we will be back!
Many things to do at this place; they have swimming pools and an ice rink as well as a gymnasium. The concert venue area is down past the ice rink to the bar area prior to going into the function area for any performers you are going to see. We have been a few times to see performers at The Dome and have always found the room to be of a good size for the people attending and never over full. I think the capacity there is around 3000 although I haven't seen anywhere near that figure when we've attended events. Parking is adequate on the visits that we've made there and if there was a particular larger event then I'm sure the team at the dome management will have thought ahead and facilitated additional parking spaces nearby. If you're travelling to attend any concert at the dome, there are plenty of eating places across the road just past the mcdonalds that you see first and if you require accommodation there is a Premier Inn very close by as well as the Hilton Hotel that's within walking distance for the dome venue. I would recommend the Dome for a venue to go to for if you are watching singers or groups that are appearing there.
