Stunning Bar with well kept beers, 30 wines and champagnes by the glass and over 30 Gins. Food served all day in the bar and snug. Seasonal British Cuisine with global influences served in the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We now also have 6 beautiful decorated en-suite rooms.

Wow Wow Wow just spent 3 nights in this amazing place from the moment we entered reception the staff were more than welcoming and then we were taken to our bedroom... another Wow the bathroom was totally amazing steam/shower wet room fabulous bath and to top it all mood lighting throughout so much more than a room. We ate in the restaurant all three days breakfast another Wow the ash Brown's are a must on any breakfast. Dinner well each night we tried different meals EVERY meal was delicious and presented to a high standard, the menu choices cater for everyone and the sticky toffee pudding again another Wow.
Well finally the staff each and everyone of them were exceptional totally making sure we wanted for nothing from the time we arrived to the time we left - you all make this jewel of place the success it is and are all a credit to your employers ....we'll definitely be back .

Excellent food excellent service we live in Braintree Essex and we do try to get to this restaurant at least twice a year it really is worth the effort and the extra expense of accommodation for the evening

The bar area felt a little like a hotel bar, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but just wasn't what we were looking for. The staff were very friendly and helpful, I can't fault them at all. The food was sadly underwhelming. The chicken burger I had only tasted of onion marmalade, I couldn't pick out any other flavours. Over all, not a bad place for a quick lunch but not sure I'd make the journey back

Had a lovely meal with our two daughters (11 & 8) this evening. The food was excellent but it was the staff that made the evening. Thank you.

Nice and good quality but cashing in on the location and food and drinks are on the pricier side
