Story

With origins, in part, dating back to the 16th century, the Inn is full of atmosphere and charm. Oak beams, nooks, crannies and a wood burning stove welcome guests and act as a reminder of the Inn’s heritage, while the modern facilities and contemporary country feel provide a luxurious haven for our guests.

With seven guests rooms, the Black Boys will delight any visitor dining or staying overnight while taking in the countryside views.

Booked to stay the night. Was freezing, despite a (small) radiator - visible gaps around the door not helping. A twisted venetian blind was our only barrier from a bright light directly outside the room, so very little darkness. The poor insulation also let road noise in, which was very loud and long, the room backing onto a long straight main road. We gave up at 2am when the bar door opened and we were subjected to the Bee Gees at high volume, alongside a shouted commentary on the many ways that someone outside "loved this song". Absolutely dreadful. Cold, noisy and far too light.

Love love love this place. me and my partner had the best time her and are right now planning our next trip. The room was beautfiul and spacious and looked out on to an amazing view of the countryside. The pub was lovely and the staff so kind. I do have one little thing to say my breakfast was a little soggy as my holandaise sauce had split but the chef did re open the kitchen for us so we could have a late breakfast so not really a big deal. All in all a very lovely place to stay.

Won't stay again, they don't know what a vacuum cleaner looks like, didn't want to walk on the bedroom floor and big gap under the door, a gale was blowing through as we where in the barn room and red light in the bathroom and the toilet wouldn't stop refilling, was very annoying.. curtains didn't even cover the Windows anyone could see in as it was a barn they put us in .
