Always liked this place. It's in my opinion one of the better venues in Middlesbrough. It is a bit more pricey but then it's worth it. Lovely interior and exterior, good coffee shop and brilliant outside space for a ll year round. Love it and definitely recommend it.

First time I've been in the function room upstairs. Really nice room, the food was good and the DJ provided was.fine. not sure how expensive it is to hire... only gave 3 stars because the toilets were dirty and although there were plenty only a couple had loo roll. Which was pointed out to the bar staff early on but nothing done about it. All in all a good night tho.

Just been a meal with my boyfriend to the dickens. Saw 2 staff members walking around on their phone, none knew where the tables were we got brought the wrong food 3 times. Faces like slapped backsides. The food was great I got chicken fajitas which tasted amazing and well seasoned. Then got a dessert which they also brought out wrong and went said “oh no I wanted ice cream” the girl rolled her eyes at me and sighed, sorry but do your job right. Can’t help if Im allergic to something. She was so rude. And the dessert took 40 minutes to come out which then actually got sent out by another member of staff who wasn’t actually working because the girl didn’t want to see me again!! All I said was sorry no I wanted ice cream. Didn’t mean to offend you. And it took the manager to come and collect all our plates because staff were either not in sight or on their phone or talking to each other at the bar. Very disappointed and disrespectful

Went to an event in the upstairs room, 90s Rock/Metal night Venue was great, clean and looked really nice. The bar was a bit small so there was a 10-20 minute wait to be served as it was 3+ people deep and didn't seem to go down. Aside from That, great venue!

The Dickens coffee shop has an excellent menu. The food served is hot and tasty. The service offered is good
