This is the best place in York for breakfast. Good varied menu and everything you order is excellent. Been here lots of time and sampled nearly all of it, and it’s always cooked perfectly.nnService is excellent. Friendly people who seem to really care about the business and the customers.nnGiven how busy it gets on Sunday they’re always expedient with both food and service too. And despite how busy it is, even when there’s no tables you never feel like an inconvenience.nnIt does get very busy on Sunday mornings and occasionally there’s a queue.nnThey give you a cute little brownie bite with your coffee. Now that’s where they get you. The brownies are so good that it is physically not possible to leave without buying some.
Tasty food and a great atmosphere. Dim enough for a calm vibe whilst maintaing the ability to see, always enjoy coming here for that reason. Very cosy little find, always seems to be busy too. Rightly so. They offer a wide menu, toasties, sandwiches, salad, scones and cakes, soup though they didn't have any today and plenty of coffees, smoothies and milkshakes. Great to support local too. Will always choose independent where I can and I believe a lot of their produce is locally sourced. A little on the pricey side but worth paying for the extra quality. They waited on us at the table and then we paid at the counter at the end. I had a toastie from the specials board and it was delicious, it came with a generously sized side salad. Although, initially my salad was on my friend's plate as they mixed up our side orders. Simple switch but odd how they managed to get them confused. Also love how they're dog friendly. Seen a couple of very cute and very well behaved pets! Will be returning when I'm next in the area!
This place is absolutely brilliant. The coffee is outstanding — perfect for real coffee lovers. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always smiling and genuinely kind. The food was excellent the bacon sandwich is a must. I’ll definitely be back very soon. Five stars! Sue was brilliant and so were all the other staff!
Passing by today didn’t realise the time 3 minutes before closing time. Met with a friendly greeting and the staff were more than happy to make me take away coffee’s. Great service from the barista who gave a lovely smile on handing over my drinks. Polar opposite of the other place in the village who despite it being half an hour before closing couldn’t make me a drink. Thank you for your service
A very pleasant cafe. Really nice coffee and lovely staff. I’d recommend the creamy mushrooms - the red onion sauce made for a very tasty dish. I bought some splendid brownie to takeaway too.
