Delicious fish! You get a nice big chunk of it and you can tell its fresh. Tres yummy. Massive queue but well worth the wait. There's a small restaurant we managed to sit in but there's only a few tables so maybe book

Award winning fish & chippery - queues sometimes quite long but fast moving. High morale in the queue, a bit like an air raid shelter in the blitz where you make new friends. Chips perhaps more variable than the fish which is very good. And one of the current staff resembles a famous tennis player. You have to work that out.

Booked, friendly welcome, busy and service good. Food was good and as good as expected. Been to a lot of fish restaurants and this one was up there. Had light batter large haddock. Good choice. Will go again..., and again.

Voted best fish n chip shop in the UK. Well deserved too. Perfectly cooked haddock and chips. Excellent service and a pleasant restaurant area for those who'd rather eat in than take away.

This was our first visit after a recommendation from a family friend. On our first visit the waiter explained even before opening my mouth that they have a special dietary fryer for Halal & also Vegetarian option for the strict vegetarians. I was already impressed before ordering but reluctant to give it such a wild thought as the main obstacle of tasting the famous fish was the reason I was there. Whilst waiting which wasn’t long at all management would constantly come and speak to you about how your fish will be done and when I say management I mean the pinnacle of the hierarchy - Main Father & Son would come out and reassure in humble manners which was great along with a lovely waitress I this she was called Julie?. The food was innovative and beautifully cooked and presented well and in my perspective literally wiped the floor clean from any other fish & chip shop this includes your big players such as Harry Ramsden’s & Graveleys. Staff were knowledgeable and rather fun, it's lovely to see people enjoying their job! Food was promptly served and cooked to perfection. A nice selection of drinks were on offer in a lovely atmosphere. The batter on the fish which was a haddock I ordered was out of this world hence why making that bold statement was said with sheer confidence. Lastly they gave me an extra cod to take home and I rang up to pay for it as it was morally right, The owner David simply replied “Your happiness means more to us than the money.” Astonishing. I’ve never been taken back with such a place literally no faults or room for improvements. Very understanding and accommodating to your needs. Halal, Veggie or Kosher this is your stop for Fish & Chips (Chips for Veggie people.) Will be back next week with family, Well Done. Outstanding!
