A very beautiful and popular historic pub. I especially liked the private snug room, which we had to book in advance for an extra £10 — but it was absolutely worth it. It’s a great feeling to be in a lively pub yet still have your own quiet, private space.nThe food and drinks were very good. However, the service was not great — probably because there were too many guests and not enough staff that day.
This was such a cool pub to grab a pint and lunch at. We went upstairs to eat but I really wish we had gone downstairs because it was such a cool area. The downstairs had a historic and unique design. Besides that the food was so good. The service was a bit slow but there seemed to be only two people working.
With apologies to other purveyors of Irish Stouts, the pint of Whitewater Brewing's Belfast Black I was served at the Crown Liquor Saloon was the best I sampled in my tour of Ireland N&S. A good head produced straight from the barrel no reliance on gasses! and an incredible depth to the flavour. 20 out of 10.
Great pub in Belfast city dating back to 19th century. Amazing Victorian interior with private booths snugs, stained glass windows and ornate fittings. Large range of beers and good traditional food. Fantastic service.
A beautifully-preserved pub and my favourite in Belfast. Owned by the National Trust with all of its original features intact, including gas lighting!nnThe booths, with their high screens and doors, create a nostalgic atmosphere. All of the staff were friendly and efficient. A great place to spend an evening with friends.
