Nice bar in the center of Belfast. It has a lot of character and history. Dating back to the 1880s, it is a listed building belonging to the national trust. It features wooden booths, stained glass windows and gas lights. This bar does a Great bowl of Irish stew. It has lots of different beers and ales to chose from. The bar is just across the road from the main Belfast bus and train station. The bar stays open until midnight all week except Sundays.

After a rough day of having our flights cancelled and catching the last bus from Dublin, we stopped in here for dinner. We ordered some cider, Irish stew, and sausage and champ. Cider was as expected. Stew, while tasty, was a pretty small bowl, particularly considering we ordered the double portion. The bread that came with the stew (which they went out of their way to tell us we could not take with us), was actually stale and flavorless (we decided we did not want to take it no matter what). The sausage and champ was decent, essentially bratwurst with gravy on mashed potatoes. The restaurant was very nice inside, and while the staff were not attentive (even though it was empty at the time), were still relatively nice. The food, however, left a lot to be desired. For the price paid and the portions provided, as well as the average quality of the food, I do not believe it was worth it. It was also one of the few places in Ireland we visited that actually asked for a tip on the receipt, which is odd considering the waiter abandoned our table after delivering the food and taking our plates and never bringing the bill. The staff in general seemed somewhat aloof and would disappear behind the kitchen doors for long periods at a time. "The Crown Liquor Saloon" aka "Crown Bar" uses its historical reputation and tourism attraction to pass off mediocre food and service as something special, which it certainly is not.

Love this pub. Not been in the city too often but have had five visits here. Great atmosphere anyway. Throw in grand slam and st Patrick's day. Fabulous.

Good old time bar. Great atmosphere and good selection of beers, whiskeys etc. Booths were amazing and I can imagine spending a night here with friends. Best in Belfast!

Very impressive decor. And obviously a fine selection of beers and stronger liquids. And you can have your own private 'cabinet'.
