Nice welcome, fish and chips was amazing. Guinness on draft was top rate. Beer batter on fish with homemade chips. So tasty great looking decor and Xmas tree. Even have live bands some nights. Food & drinks: Homemade and very good.
Too bad the owners didn't have the good grace to face their competitors in Four in the bed on payment day. They were only too willing to criticize the other owners on pretty much everything despite being far from perfect themselves. I think this will badly reflect on their business in the future!
I didn't stay, but I did take may family today for the carvery for my brothers 50th. The food was delicious. The staff we very welcoming and friendly. Thank you.Service: 5/5
Unfortunately this pub and bnb isn't clean at all. From the sticky tables and cutlery. To dirty toilets. If you don't mind filth. This is the place for you.

You scored low from day one on four in a bed with only saying you would return to one. I know where I would rather stay and it wouldn't be here!! Then to withdraw at the end and imply the others were cheating. Shame on you!
What a pub! Rooms are a mystery.. Having recently moved to Heanor, finding the crown at the top of the street was Golden! The staff and service are amazing. Quick, efficient and pleasant. Good choice of drinks from the standard to the unique ales. Prices are standard, a pint Carling is ~£3.00 to give a benchmark. The interior is really nice refurbished and it's a good size with different sized tables to accommodate every kind of group. Air conditioning, this is a massive plus. The exterior is clean and tidy, more so for a standard pub garden and pleasant to sit in and have a beer. Has an initial covered wooden section with a number of tables leading to some more on the patio of varied sizes. Grass area at the far back is nice but the tables lean with the hill so, be aware! I've never said in the rooms so I can't comment on them. Conclusion is the pub is a great place to chill out and have a drink. The overall score isn't 5 stars Purley because there is nothing in particular to elevate it to that level like a bar with a gimic or set style for example. However, sometimes that's not that you need. The overall feel is relaxing and that itself is perfect.
The pub had a nice vibe but a really weird layout, the down side is that the pub unfortunately doesn't have any on-site parking. There are carparks close. Food & drinks: The food is good value and tastes okay. I personally wouldn't go for the Sunday dinner.
