We had our little girls 1st birthday here. We had a wonderful day. The food was amazing and reasonably priced. Special thanks to Dario and the team at Crown for all their help in making our day a memorable one!
Very lovely pub. We came early on Friday night and it has lovely interior decor and big outdoor space in back, with tables decently spread out. The prices were moderate, and though slightly slow to get the food the flavour was excellent. Will definitely be returning.
I haven't been to the Crown in a while, the place has been refurbished since I last went. It looks lovely. I had the vegetarian breakfast photo shows 2 mushrooms only because my friend didn't want theirs. It was tasty apart from the vegetarian sausages, they were hard at the ends and very dry throughout. Definitely one of my least favourite veggie sausages. Toast looked like it walked past the toaster instead of in to it I love almost cremated toast but was advised they don't have a toaster. They did their best to make well toasted toast it was crunchy outside and soft and fluffy in the middle I will say the toast tasted very good and had the taste of freshly baked bread, even if it didn't have the visual effects of how I like my toast. Would go back for coffee and other meals. Not for vegetarian sausage based meals
Update review. 4 to 5 stars. When back a few times this year had lunch & recently 9 of us had dinner on a Monday night all enjoyed it. It's waiting time has improved. Food was always good there . The food are well presented & delicious. Our favourites were The chicken wings. Nachos Fish & chips Steaks Mix grills And all the desserts were yummy.
Huge thank you to Brian and a special shout out to Monique who both gave incredible service and delicious food. A lovely warm welcome from Brian on arrival and Monique is a very efficient, hardworking member of staff.
We enjoyed our bottomless brunch! Staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely return!
We attended an informal retirement drinks at the Crown last evening, It was amazing, the venue was perfect with plenty of space for colleagues and the unexpected appearance of a DJ. IN short we all were dancing and having enormous fun until closing time!! Is there always a DJ on a Friday night. A wonderful evening.
Today we had a table booked for 2.30. We were really looking forward to having a Sunday roast. We arrived on time, told our table was busy with previous customers so given another table. We thought the pub didn’t look too busy so ready to relax and enjoy our meal and a few drinks. Had been feeling quite low so this seemed a nice change. NOT TO BE. Girl came over and then said “Hi guys, just to let you there is an hour’s wait for the meal. The pub provides slots so it would leave us with 30 minutes to eat our courses. Had been so happy with Kieran’s reassurances that things had changed. Well we have left very unhappy. Would not recommend and clearly things have not improved.
Friendly staff, good service. Food was OK for a pub, but some of the prawns in my surf 'n turf were not cooked, the peppercorn sauce was watery, and my starter of salt and pepper calamari was mostly batter.
Been here a couple of times now and can honestly say it has friendly atmosphere the food has been delicious every time, the decor is lovely. They have some lovely staff who always make you fee welcome and they are very accommodating especially a young lady named lucy she is a true asset to the establishment
