It wasn't really that busy when we entered, there are loads of movable signs outside saying it's £5.95 for the carvery mon-sat but nothing for the Sunday price. The food was ok but the potatoes had sat under that heat lamp for quite a while. For the £27.50 we spent on 2 adults and a child dining, I would've preferred to spend the money at any of the other eating establishments in the complex. The kids play area needs a bit of tlc, the fence needs replacing. And after all that, before we left, I used the facilities and they have to be the worst I've seen - floors wet and a cubicle door was missing. Would I eat here again... no.
Food is decent and good value, however service was quite poor during our visit. Reminds me of a Whetherspoons pub.
Popped in for an unplanned lunch. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Service was great both at the bar and at the carvery. Carvery food was excellent, meat was succulent, veg wasn't soggy snd potatoes were crunchy. When asked for half chip and half onion ring for one order they were happy to do so. Definitely recommend and will be back with other family members. Toilets were clean and fresh smelling which does make a change.
On the couple of occasions going there the new manager has been very rude. Not only to my self but other customers as well. While I was there one occasion for breakfast with my work colleagues he shouted at a lady with a young girl demanding her to get out as she was only asking for the allergy menu as she's explained her daughter has allergies to which he escalated very quickly. I can vouch for her she was not rude or even raising her voice, she was calm and polite with him. The last time I was there we put a pound in the pool table to which 4 balls were missing including the black. We asked the manager if he would be able to get the other balls out to which he replied "there's nothing I can do" he then came over 5 minutes later to give an excuse that he had put a new top on the table and there must have been glue dropped inside the table to which the balls have stuck to and walked off. At the very least I would expect an apology and it would have been curtious for him to refund our pound. I 100% would not recommend this place even for a quick drink. The manager is rude to customers and his staff, his staff are okay and the place itself is tired looking. His brothers place is not much better didn't surprise me when I found out The Bridge House Hotel in Reigate, for the same reasons, except the hotel has major health hazards such as mould growing within the rooms, food out of date, constant sewage problems and the feel that everything is being done on the cheap. I would avoid both places like the plague!
I waited 7 to 8 minutes next to the please wait here to be seated sign. This gave me enough time to read many of the negative reviews - which all confirmed I had not made the best choice for a 'dining experience'. I was eventually greeted by the manager who's expression confirmed I was stupid enough to wait 7 or 8 minutes next to a sign which I should have ignored, surely I should have figured out +90% empty tables = you can grab a seat and your own menu...?! I then fell into the trap of asking for a cask beer... the beer was pulled along the lines of a lager which I'm sure is a lack of bar experience. The stale, flat, lifeless liquid is still sat undrunk on my table as i try to think of a worse pint of beer in living memory! Unfortunately things didn't improve for the Carvery, if I had a mobile carbon dating kit - I might have been able to judge when the last drop of moisture had evaporated from the meat selection, another reviewer described the gravy like ectoplasm which I can vouch as accurate, but this much needed moisture allowed some of the food to be swallowed. If you go on a busy day, when there are more staff, you seat yourself, you drink bottled drinks and get there as soon as the carvery opends, you may end up with an 3.5 out of 5 average experience. I'd like to think i was unlucky, but there are too many other people who have experienced a similar service. Personally I'd choose to avoid... sorry! :-
Went today & it wasn't busy at all! We were quickly shown to a table and that is about as good as it got! Ordered our food & drinks at the bar there was 2 adults & 3 children that was once the barmaid had gotten off her phone having been standing there for awhile. They forgot to give one of the drinks! We ordered 1 adult & 2 children carvery & 1 steak. 50 mins later the streak still hadn't come. When the waiter came to clear our table & asked how our meal was I replied still waiting. He went & checked and said it would be another 10 mins. The printer they said had got stuck!! Of which I said forget it the children had finished & so had I. The Food wasn't that great either. The mash looked like it had dried out along with the stuffing. The carrots were hard & the roast potatoes salty! Would I go there again? NOPE.
Easy to book with accommodating and friendly staff! Very attentive and set up a lovely area for my fiance's birthday! He loved the balloons and decor! Not only friendly over the phone but 100% brilliant in person.
Pub in its self is OKAY but not the best - the food was awful!! We had the carvery , the turkey was so pink it was still clucking on the plate, the peas were frozen, the carrots didn't even taste like carrots, the sausage was cold and under cooked. The stuffing usually the best bit was so rancid I left it on the plate overall I only ate 3 potatoes which were the only things edible!!! Staff are useless and don't seem to have a clue.
Went here with about 10 of us and 4 children. Had 6 carvreys which were dry and didn't have much taste brought multiple rounds of drinks and was playing pool. It's a great place but shame the food and staff don't match the good location and concept behiend a child friendly pub. Staff are extreemly rude and even the owner herself was texting on her phone a couple of times while we was waiting to order drinks. To top it of she comes over and switches on a tv full blast while we have babies sleeping. Can see it being closed down soon which is a shame. One big issue to is the fact the baby changing facility has been broken for 3 months....
Odd pub but fine for a pint. Beer is unreliable in quality but larger is fine. Food is poor reheated and very greasy. Staff pleasant but a bit slow. Handy location though no need to make a trip unless happen to be passing.
