Our Canadian friends who were staying with us wanted to take us out for dinner. I chose the Crown Hotel as this appeared to be the closest venue to our home.nWe were not disappointed, the place was buzzing but we were quickly shown to our table and menus provided. Our drinks arrived reasonably quickly by which time we were ready to order our food. The staff worked extremely efficiently even though they were run off their feet and were always polite.nWe all agreed the food was excellent, the staff brilliant and the ambience pleasant. I would recommend the place full heartedly.
This is one of our new local bars / restaurants / hotels in our new home town. We absolutely love the place and have been made to feel very special from the first visit.nJack, Aaron, and the rest of the team really go the extra mile to ensure all customers are made to feel very welcome. We shall be recommending you to everyone who comes to visit.nThank you,nMichael and Kate Wee Bits
We used the restaurant there. The restaurant looks nice inside. The food was really tasty and we enjoyed that. Service was a bit lacking, and they took their time to bring me an extra plate for my son. Online, they have a kids menu, but I was not offered one when we arrived. The toilet was very dated and not tidy.
We enjoyed a meal here in June. The large bar-restaurant room was nicely decorated, the background music wasn’t too loud, the service was friendly although we had to wait a while till anybody appeared, and overall we liked it and would visit again.nnThe menu is mostly straight-forward pub-style food at a reasonable price.nnMy steak and ale pie, accompanied by a glass of Erdinger Alkoholfrei, was very good – although mushy tinned or frozen? carrots are never a good idea.nnMy partner had two starters instead of a main and enjoyed both the duck pate, which came with plenty of oat cakes, and a home-style chicken and rice soup.nnI had to point out that the inside of the water carafe was dirty.nnThere’s plenty of parking nearby.
This is an excellent hotel which is well regarded by locals. Took my elderly mum for the carvery on Easter Sunday. The food was superb - every single item was perfectly cooked. Mum is vegetarian and said the sweet potato tart was delicious. Our desserts were fab too.
