I hate to give poor reviews but as someone who probably visits too many pubs, I have to say that this was a poor experience. Firstly, the pub is in a great location, looking out onto the village green and pond. It could be Ambridge. First impressions are also good when walking in and the garden looks pleasant. Then you meet the bar man. So much of an experience is about the people. The barman struggled with basic civility and never reached a level of customer service. There was no welcome, no hello, no eye contact, no smile, no humour, no questions, and no attempt to seek feedback. Then there was the food We only ordered cheese and pickle sandwiches at about £4.50 each. Two slices of bread, cheese, pickle served with token lettuce leaf and quarter of tomato. Quality beaten by the cheese and onion sandwiches that Co-Op sell for £1 Luckily, there are two more pubs in Pirbright both of which are good. I would avoid the Cricketers. Sorry

Nice Beer (London Pride and 2 guest ales) which is kept very well, 3 draught lager's and a selection of bottled drinks in the fridge. Serving good quality pub food most lunchtimes and evenings. Friendly staff, lovely views over the village green and duck pond. Nice log fire in the winter.

My friend and i came here for a meal and she found a long strand of hair which was neither of our hair colour but the bar tender claims it was ours when it was not as my friend was half way through her dinner and it was laying in the middle of all the mince. absolutely disgusting.
