Lovely old traditional pub with a great big garden at the back for sunny days. The food is amazing.
Great spot for lunch -- the menu isn't the longest not a criticism - that's generally reassuring as it means they are focusing on what they do well and indeed everything we ordered was great. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Apparently it had just reopened after refurbishment and whatever they had done has been done very sympathetically.
We went to the new refurbished Cricketers for Sunday lunch yesterday and I have to say were all pretty impressed. My goats cheese and mushroom wellington was lovely. Everyone said their lamb was tender and my husband loved his beef cheek. We all had mainly crispy roast potatoes, a massive bugbear that my husband has is that the roast potatoes are usually a let down and he ate all his. We didn't have room for dessert. We will definitely be back. The prices are a bit punchy for a local pub but given the quality of food and service we all left happy.
Newly refurbished. Its quite modern interior, nice as it is, has naturally lost much of the old world charm it previously had, but things move on eh. I found it quite dark in many areas, some better lighting might be worth considering. The music is pretty loud if you are near one of the many speakers, I felt a bit sorry for people having a Sunday roast in the slightly dark areas with loud music blaring out. The food did look good, and am giving it a go next week. If I remember correctly I was paying £6+ for a pint, you decide if thats in your budget. Staff were all pleasant enough. No change in the garden so thats gonna be good as the weather improves. Worth a visit for sure, it's early days and am sure with a few tweeks they will find the right balance.
Absolutely fantastic lunch here on April 18th following recent refurbishment. Cannot thank Kelly and Lucy enough for their excellent service and kindness.Highly recommend. Fabulous food!
We always go for a works Xmas doo here. There are new owners now who have renovated beautiful and put on a lovely Xmas Menu. Top marks.
Lovely lunch. Staff were stretched as it was busy but they were so nice and made us very welcome! The drinks offer has really improved since new ownership. Looking forward to coming back!
Nice pub, with bar and lounge area for dining. Food traditional English pub grub
I booked a meal at this pub for my 60th Birthday on 6th Nov 2022 . I had pre ordered all of our meals and yet we still had to wait an hour for our food . By this point my 2 young Grandsons were starving, and extremely fed up . The food eventually arrived with no apologies from the staff and to say we were disappointed is an understatement. I have never been served such an appallingly roast dinner which was actually inedible . At the same time other diners who had been waiting just as long were also complaining about the food and another table left without ordering having seen the poor quality. The staff were not interested in listening to our concerns , and in fact we’re quite rude, which infuriated my family as this was a special Birthday that had been ruined. I would seriously suggest that the staff are urgently given training on what customer service looks like .
Nice pub with new owners. Massive garden out the back, proper nice menu and the new manager is a nice chap. Friendly staff, well worth a visit.
