The Crab Shed is a new and vibrant seafood restaurant near The Fish Quay in Salcombe, Devon.
Our aim is to showcase the finest South Devon produce.

Story

Located right on the waterfront and next to The Fish Quay, The Crab Shed offers relaxed and casual dining with interesting views of the beautiful Salcombe estuary. We pride ourselves on the locally sourced fish and shellfish that come from our crab factory and the fishing boats. Our chefs prepare all their own stocks from the freshest fish and shellfish and other locally sourced produce. This ensures that our Bouillabaisse, Bisque and various other soups and sauces are infused with those special seafood flavours.
In addition to our restaurant area, our waterside terrace offers al fresco dining and is the perfect place to watch the fishing boats returning to The Fish Quay!

Really wonderful meal here. Service was very good, professional, friendly, there when you need them. The outside tables could do with slightly improved weather protection, one table in particular has no weather protection due to a broken awning. Cooking of the food was very good nearly perfect, all the food was extremely fresh, the scallops were large and very tasty, lobster was over cooked for my liking either that or I was eating a frozen one, clams on the v.small side, still one of the best choices in the country for a sea food spectacular. 9 out of 10. Can’t wait to return.
Set on the Salcombe Quayside, the Crab Shed offers freshly caught fayre in an intimate setting. The service was attentive, although our dog wasn't offered a bowl of water which you would expect at a dog friendly restaurant, and particular care was given to accommodate my crustacean allergy, The food was tasty; the scallops were delicious and my wife loved her linguini. A great little restaurant and well worth visiting; book well in advance as it gets busy!
What a wonderful dining experience.nnNice to return, and despite the high expectations after our previous visit, we were blown away by the quality of our Easter Sunday lunch.nnDog friendly so perfect for a post-walk lunch. The standard menu with a special starter and a catch of the day. Wonderful service from the off, pitched perfectly. We decided on a terrace table to enjoy the sea air as we ate.nnFood highlights included the special starter of the soft taco with breaded plaice with a beautiful offsetting salsa. The crab bisque is always a joy. Moules marinière was accompanied by the crabby fries. Possibly the best moules I've ever had. Nice to know also from where the various seafood has been sourced. All local of course.nnWe couldn't manage pudding, despite the temptation of a sticky toffee pud. Espressos rounded off the meal, ready for the onward walk.nnSuch a perfect place to enjoy some of the best seafood around. Cooked with great skill, and served by lovely people. Bravo.
I’ve always had great dining experiences in beautiful Salcombe but this was incredible! Beautiful views, good service and fabulous Cracked Crab.nParking is close by but can be busy in peak season and booking well in advance is recommended. We sat on the outside terrace which wasn’t heated so take warm clothes even in the summer in the evening but they provide blankets. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful time! The servers were so nice and friendly, and the food was absolutely incredible full of flavor and beautifully prepared. There were no issues at all, just a lovely lunch from start to finish. The crab was definitely the highlight we made a mess but it was so tasty! We did spend around £100 but we were a family of four.
