We visited the Crab and Anchor this evening for the first time !nWOWnSeriously the service, the interaction from the staff was heart warming nMistral fronting the bar, full off life happy engaging with a swagger to be proud of !nThem came Deborah smiling dancing, helpful as can be making us feel more at home thannActually been at home nThe venue itself has a wonderful ambience with great music at the perfect volume tonInteract with your friends / family.nThen came along the food!nI amnLucky enough to eat out regular at some nice place BUT the food here was genuinely the best and I mean the best !nThere was four of us having meals and every course was insanely GOOD, I do not normally write reviews but I simply had to as a thank you to Philip the chef who I did. Or meet but is clearly very very good the portion the quality the presentation the hotness of the dish to me all important factors 10/10nPs back tomorrow thank you nWe have travelled down from Yorkshire and this made the trip worthwhile alone!nnBoss of and give them a thank you from us nnPete, Mark, paul and Paul.
Really enjoyed our first visit. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Starters were really excellent. My burger was tasty but the bun started to disintegrate towards half way. Will definitely go back.
I had a lovely family meal here today, with 5 people.nnThe atmosphere was lovely, well decorated and feels very intimate. Even with the lights, there were windows that were letting in some gorgeous sunshine from outside.nnThe service was great, but unfortunately there were only 2 members of staff for a full restaurant! There definitely needs to be more because it did take things like paying and ordering a bit longer than ideal. However, the staff were still great, checking on us and if we needed any drinks through the meal. The staff also were lovely and accommodating for my father, letting us have a take out box because he couldn't finish his meal.nnThe food was great value for money and was delicious. The portions were very generous and the quality was lovely. My only suggestion would be to have some more veg on the chicken and pork dish, but overall, absolutely delicious and will be back!
Amazing souvlaki, the new owners have really done a lot already to improve the decor and atmosphere.nnIt used to feel like an ageing pub but now it's cosy and new, with great food and service to match!
We visited as a family of 4 today to have the festive menu and wow the food was amazing! All of the dishes had so much flavour and the meat just fell apart. There was also lots of it so it was very filling but well worth every penny. The cheesecake was one of the best I have ever had and I would say this has probably been one of the best meals I've had out in a while. The staff were lovely and attentive and it was just a nice atmosphere. Thank you for an amazing meal, we look forward to coming back in the new year! Merry Christmas to you all
