I am updating my review of this tea room as they seem to have got their act together now, the service speed has improved considerably. It is a lovely tea room with great food and service, with indoor and outdoor seating. The food is excellent and tasty, the cheese scones are delicious.Food: 5/5
Nice tearoom near the centre of Saffron Walden with outdoor seating and a pleasant interior environment. The food on offer is of reasonable quality though a bit expensive for what it is. We had a jacket potato and some roast beef. The roast beef was £11 or more, but over £9 for a jacket potato cooked in a microwave with one filling? If this was Harrods, maybe. But this is a tearoom in Essex. For two of us it was £30. I noted not all items on the drinks menu are priced. It's probably an oversight, but I think one should reasonably expect prices to be present on all menus. The service was OK if a bit slow. Would I go here again? Probably not, the setting is nice but it just isn't worth the money there are better places in Saffron Walden.
Correct name for this establishment is Tip Tree Tearooms: A traditional tearoom which was actually open late afternoon hallelujah and dog friendly outside. Covid regulations in place. Well stocked tearooms with good quality drinks and cakes. This is the place to bring your friends if you want good tasteful surroundings. Above all found comfortable seats and choice to eat in or outside. Very hard working staff. Wheelchair accessible and cloakroom facilities of a high standard. Will certainly visit again, although not so good for the waistline!

We waited 50 mins for this -a kids cheese and bacon baked potato and to be told they were out of ingredients for the salad ordered. A custard tart was dry - days old. It was chaotic. In a town of cafes we won’t be going back to this one!
I was eagerly anticipating my visit to Tip Tree's tea room, given my long-standing love for their jams during my afternoon teas. Finally, the day arrived, and I was full of excitement. However, upon our arrival, my enthusiasm quickly waned due to the disappointing customer service. We sat at our table for quite some time before I realized there was no menu, so I had to retrieve one from the front. It was only then that the staff acknowledged our presence, despite there being six of us. When our orders were finally brought to us, they were placed on a single table, and we had to pass the food around ourselves, as individual service seemed too much to ask for. This awkward juggling act made the experience less enjoyable. As for the scones, which I had been eagerly looking forward to, they only had fruit and cheese options, and they paled in comparison to Tesco's finest scones. They were dry and lukewarm, possibly microwaved. The overall setting of the tea room resembled an ordinary cafe, lacking the special ambiance one would expect from a brand known for its luxury tea time experience and its iconic Tip Tree jam. All in all, this visit was a massive disappointment.
We had a great lunch here on Saturday afternoon, food was great and arrived quickly. Well priced too. I would also add the service was great, everyone smiling and helpful. Thanks, Tom
it's pretty little cafe with so much feast. Great portion with reasonable price! Child friendly, good smiley service truly is the charm of this place. They always have 6, 7 different kinds of freshly baked cakes as well! It's a charming icon cafe to represent this town.

Food okay wouldn't Go to Saffron Walden just for something to eat at the tea room. Still had Xmas special offers on the shelves?? Forward planning!!!Food: 3/5
