Charming pub with a traditional ambiance and log fire. A few smaller alcoves and nooks which are ideal for small groups. Meals looked excellent. Traditional pub food but a higher than normal quality. Happy to adapt meals for keto (substitute potatoes/chips for vegetables). Nice coffee and polite welcoming staff.

Lovely welcoming host and staff. Food was  delicious. Nice open fire burning so warm and cosy atmosphere. Also looked like it would be a great place to stop at and sit outside in the warmer weather.

This is now my favourite pub/restaurant! 
We visited here today (24th December 2017)
With a very fussy bunch of diners, 17 in total,  Not only were we looked after by the friendly staff but the food was of a very high quality and served all at the same time still hot despite nearly everyone having a different dish. I would highly recommend the cock and bottle to anyone.

Good quality food, good service. Despite our slightly odd diet requirements there was no problem, staff very obliging. Recommended.
