Went on a Wednesday night and found the place to be quite busy. Pub downstairs particularly though I found upstairs a bit quieter restaurant which was really nicely classic. The beer selection is quite wide and don't forget to ask the staff about seasonal beers. The staff was very courteous and and went out of their way to recommend beers. Got the scotch egg which was probably the highlight of the dinner. Particularly the sauce. Oysters were good though served with strong sauce so I didn't really taste the raw oyster too much. Mains were not the best. Fish and chips were the best I had in London but nothing as good as I had in Scotland. The chips were very average and the Tatar sauce had little richness. The whole portion overwhelmed me, I struggled to finish. The pie that my partner got was initially good and rich but very fast it became boring to eat. Very filling as well. Tourists will appreciate it though I don't know if I'd visit again for food alone since I can recommend only the scotch egg.
Fantastic food, great cocktails, cosy dining area and attentive service. Good veggie options with everything perfectly cooked and wholesome.Food: 5/5
Everything was perfect. Honestly, one of the best restaurants to try in London. It’s a pub yes but the real geam is the restaurant on the first floor. Make sure to try the tomato salad, fish and chips, scotch eggs, and the meat pie and mash!Food: 5/5
Wonderful pub for a Sunday late lunch. We had the fish & chips, burger and the trio of meat roast on a Sunday. Food was absolutely knock out - the roast was top drawer! Service was friendly, efficient and polite. Great all round experience and will certainly be back soon. Thank you!!Food: 5/5
High end pub restaurant with prices reflecting this; advisable to book as very popular. The food was all excellent. Delicious & with a creative twist. Wonderful pie of the week; & fish & chips were delicious & a generous portion. Staff lovely & with a sense of humour which I always appreciate. We had a great evening. Thanks! Wheelchair accessibility: Would be tricky as steep stairs.
Very good atmosphere, and great service. Probably one of the best fish n chips in town, very well made. So was the baked cod. However pricey given its a pub. 3 - 4£ above avg market price. If it wasnt for the price, food would have been 5 stars. Will go back for sure.Food: 4/5
Wonderful staff, unusually wide selection of liquors, a beautiful and maximally decorated space. A friendly and welcoming atmosphere to all including young women. Bathrooms are clean and comfortable. Big shout out to my bartender who posed for this lovely photo - what a ray of sunshine which reflects on the overall team who are all kind and offer a high level of hospitality.
I like beer, I make no bones about it. I also like London pubs. The Coach Makers is your traditional central London corner pub albeit slightly bigger than usual but its USP is the beer selection, lovers of craft pales and IPAs will be at home here. Word of caution for the uninitiated - IPAs get interesting at 6% ABV and above so choose wisely for the session…..you’re not the machine you think you are.
We have eaten here twice so far. The Coach Maker's Arms has a wonderful upstairs dining room, see photo and an excellent menu. The trout was a quality dish that came with a delicious cress sauce. I came for the gammon, which last time was succulent. This time good, but a bit dry. The chips are chunky--crispy outside and pillows of soft potato within. 5 star chips for sure. One of our favorite London pubs.
Went here not expecting to find a ton of gluten free options including fish and chips. Ended up eating at the restaurant on the 1st floor. The service was fantastic - friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Can't wait to come back!Food: 5/5
