The Clifton’s privileged location on the cliff top offers an amazing uninterrupted sea view and makes it an ideal retreat for those in search of tranquility. The stunning views can be enjoyed from the conservatory and the lovely garden, offering the perfect visual tonic to relax and revitalise, perhaps with a cream tea, or refreshments from the licensed bar and bistro. Local is Best……with prime farming land all around us we usually have access to fresh seasonal produce and quality fish and meat.The Bistro welcomes non residents offering fresh fish and daily specials, open from 5.30-8.30pm.

Stayed here for a long weekend. We booked the premier suite and the room was really nice. It was very clean and tidy inside and the balcony overlooking the sea was brilliant, although that wasn't very clean so we didn't sit out for too long. The evening meal in the bistro was very well cooked, the steak was done to perfection, unfortunately the freshly cooked breakfasts didn't seem that freshly cooked as we had very dry bacon and sausage on two of the days. The waitress here was definitely the star of the hotel for us though, she was bubbly, very polite, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, she always had a smile on her face. One word of warning for anyone looking to book this room though, there is no bathroom door, the design is such that you have to walk around a wall to get to it but if you are self conscious about using the loo, this may not work for you.

Beautiful old hotel tastefully decorated. Lovely food, helpful staff, comfy beds and a great shower. Situated on the cliff top overlooking Shanklin beach and easy walk to the old town, shops and beach. Great spot for my morning constitutional. Well placed to explore the island. What more do you want for a holiday?

Easy to get too, friendly staff, dinner menu limited breakfast has lots of choices but full English with NO Beans I don't think so!! Worth the update for the balcony bay room amazing views of the best part shower is amazing!!

Charming small cliff top hotel. We've not stayed here, but we have dropped in for lunch a couple of times. Cheerful service, good food and spectacular views over the bay. Recommended!
