Lovely place. Lovely staff. Lovely food. However, I had to take one star off for the atmosphere created by the sizzlers. EVERYONE was coughing even the waiter. These meals need to be rested in the kitchen before being brought out. Unfortunately we won't be back while this option is on the menu as my husband was particularly affected and uncomfortable throughout our visit.

I wanted the brunch, but I'm not keen on black pudding and asked to exchange it for a sausage. I was informed the chef wouldn't do it. He doesn't do exchanges. Every place I've been to when there has been black pudding on the menu, they've exchanged it no problem. If I wanted a replacement sausage I was going to be charged an extra pound. I accepted on this occasion, but I certainly wont be back. Go quarter of a mile up the Road to the Red Lion where I've been several times & they can"t do enough for you.  I would have given 1 star, but the staff were canny & our waitress seemed embarrassed. The chef shouldnt be so precious. The food was adequate, nothing more. He should remind himself he doesnt work at the Savoy.

I had the lamb shank and it was very good. My husband and son had the mixed grill they were also very good but the cellophane was left on my husbands burger, the staff were very good and couldn't do enough for us. Even though the meal was replaced and taken off the bill and we all got a free drink it did put a "dampener" on the evening especially as it was New Years Eve

I've been here a couple of times to meet people for lunch. The pub itself is nice and cosy, and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Most importantly though, the food is 'home made', tasty and reasonably priced. There's ample parking. I'll definitely be visiting again.

Lovely place to come food amazing reasonable prices staff are very polite and great. Highly recommended
