"Our pub & restaurant has been in business for over 30 years in Cheadle. We always welcome new and regular customers who enjoy great food and drink and the odd passing freight trains. The Cheshire Line Tavern began it’s life operating as a busy freight and passenger train station run by Cheshire Lines Committee opening on February 1st 1866. On the 30th of Novenber 1964 all operations via the station were closed apart from occassional freight trains which still run on the single track line to this date. The station building was left derelict for quite some time until it was resurrected in the late 1980’s after being refurbished into a pub & restaurant. originally named as the Station by brewery owners Banks Brewery then Chester's Brewery."

Such a great place for a meal out with family. Food was average but location is great, on the old Cheshire train line and part of the pub is where the platform used to be. A piece of history with good prices for the area as well
Honestly one of the best Carvery's i've ever been too, great atmosphere, brilliant food, lovely staff. We will 100% be coming back, thank you for a great sunday afternoon! Excellent
What an amazing pub. I've worked in the pub industry since 1997 and never seen a place like this!!!! I think it's one of the best places I have been to for a very long time. . It's a little difficult to find the entrance as it's set back from the main Manchester road, but is signed at the entrance to the car park. Hope you like the pictures... The pub was once a station on this line. And I loved the fact that the King George V post box was still in its original position. I'm also a great lover of railways so this place was like heaven for me.
I was expecting much more from this idyllic place. A lovely looking venue....from the outside. Once a tiny railway station, this romantic setting had everything to lure you inside, but that's were the quality ended. It was back to basics inside with tired looking staff and dated typical decor. Bar prices were high and you senced that they a clawing back everything they lost during the pandemic with little being invested back into quality training. The food was poor at best and arrived too long after the first order. The cocktails were weak and prepared incorrect with the bar tender resorting to Google to see the instructions on how to make them properly. Don't bother with this place, there are cheaper, more quality alternatives.
Great little pub with friendly staff and very reasonable pricing. I often buy vouchers for my parents as a treat and they always have a good time and really enjoy the food. A little gem tucked away next to Golden Days garden centre. Would highly recommend.
Wonderful atmosphere and helpful, attentive staff. The food is delicious, although that's a criminal understatement. I had the Camembert cheese starter and a lasagne. Both were exceptional, piping hot and clearly high quality. I left with a full belly and a mind to return! I might bring some friends next time. Cheers guys, thanks for a lovely afternoon :
Went here for lunch and the food was excellent. The menu was good plenty of choice. The atmosphere was great, very relaxing. The staff were very friendly and professional. A very lovely place to have a meal or just a drink with friends.
Visited today with friends for lunch. We had the set Christmas meal. My friends had the turkey I the salmon. The veg. was plentyful and lovely, as was the turkey and salmon. The service was excellent and the staff delightful. I can honestly say that everything was wonderful.
Had a pleasant and comfortable sit outside during the second week of outdoor seating being permitted after lockdown. Although several servers were working their attention seemed scattered and the service was slow but otherwise polite and efficient. The pie was very nice and the cheeseburger was inoffensive but not exciting or notable.
We had a lovely time today ! The Food was so good, The lasagne was the best and the portions where huge. Staff where so friendly and helpful.. Great service all round..Thank you so much... See you soon
