Just had a fabulous meal here. All 4 of us enjoyed our mains and dessert .steak was cooked to perfection and all at a very reasonable price Service was impeccable. Very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be back
We had family visiting and I didn’t want to cook so decided to book The Chequers Inn for Sunday lunch. The pub was extremely busy but front of house were absolutely on point. We were sat at our table and drinks arrived promptly. Staff were extremely attentive and the food was wonderful. I have finally found somewhere that serves a decent homely roast just like I would make. Nothing fancy, just very tasty meat, veg, yorkies and gravy. Definitely will be my go to when I can’t be bothered to cook.
Me and my family come here regularly to eat. Every time we come, we aren’t disappointed. The food is delicious and very good size portions. The homemade chicken curry is my favourite, absolutely amazing.
Gorgeous local pub who were incredibly welcoming to outsiders like ourselves visiting for the weekend. The food was delicious and portioned on the generous side with a cheesecake to die for! Definitely go if you're in the area.
We had a family lunch at The Chequers Inn today to celebrate Dad's birthday. Very good choice - warm welcome and fabulous service from Jules. Menu choices were good quality and very reasonably priced. Added bonus that it's dog friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Normally love the Chequers. Had a vegetarian lasagne there not so long ago and it was lovely. Had the same meal at lunch time today and I couldn’t eat it - way too dry. Chips were not cooked for long enough and were hard inside. When the waitress cleared away our plates her comment was “have we defeated you”. I explained about the lasagne and got no apology.
Great service! Food was just perfect and tasty. Cozy place and they organised our booking to fit our dog. I Will definitely come back soon.
