Very convenient place in the middle of the park. They have learnt not to make coffee extremely hot that you burn your lips. Got once cinnamon roll as a treat which turned out to be stale so not getting that again, flapjack on the other hand very tasty. Even though just 3*, it is better than the other cafe in the park.
Dry shortbread and cakes often dry. Another place which does well due to lack of competition. Also they've no awareness of queue management having over looked my 10 year old tall son, in preference to serve an adult who stood right in the middle and was clearly visible. Perhaps the system of taking orders, walking away, bringing the previous order and orders needs looking at. I dont rate the ither cafe in the park in particular but at least they dont have this problem although their prices are even more expensive.
Ordered 2 coffees and ended up with some undrinkable milky stuff I didn't ask for milk. When I asked for a new one, I was told in quite rude way that it is what it is and if I want new ones, they would have to charge me. Quite shocking.
Visited this cafe the other day Their was literally loads of rubbish from the customer's everywhere on the ground and being blown all over the park! The lady behind the counter, said they used to have their own bin, but no longer wish to pay for one! And to basically use the small council over flowing bin! Surely it's their responsibility to clear up the mess. It's really not right to just ignore this problem. So irresponsible.... and disgusting.
Not great! Convenient that it's there but. We had shakes and cake and both were quite tasteless. Bins overflowing. And a bit untidy. Shame as a good location
This place is miles better than the other one at the other end of the park . Really nice cakes and food, friendly staff, good prices too.
Very overpriced. Paid over £9 for a slice cake and a small cappucino- seriously!! The older woman with squicky voice who works there was very unpleasant. Clearly have some problem with me perhaps my foreign accent becouse wouldnt chat with me, nothing she did a lot with other people in the queqe,pass me the card machine to pay without a word please or thank you, not even would i like anything else, still chating to the other person doing the coffee like i was invisible and saying nothing that i shall wait for a drink on a side as she started serving the next person. Never received worse customer service!!!! Such a shame becouse the place is so nicely situated in the middle of Preston Park. But it seems the management dont really care as per other very negative reviews about them placed here , such shame!!!
Great friendly Cafe. Amazing home made cakes,sandwiches and don't miss out on the sausage rolls home made also. Support your local cafe you won't be let down.
The prices you charge are outrageous no real vaule for familys , whilst i get you have overheads and its in central brighton , its very unaffordable out of reach for many families . I've lived in brighton for years and this location has always been dreadful vaule
Shame you can't get coffee in proper mugs! Have to have it in takeaway, which I avoid as they are so bad for the environment! And it causes rubbish to build up in the bins or not in the bins!. I'd go back if you could get proper mugs.
