Cute little cafe with a simple menu and relaxed vibes. Good for a variety of breakfast options. I ordered breakfast #1 which was sausage, bacon, beans, egg and toast and it was very tasty. I also ordered a decaf coffee with oatmilk which was nice. My partner ordered the veggie hash which was huge and also super yummy. We weren't served for a while but managed to order at the till in the end. It's good that there's a condiments box on each table so you don't need to ask for ketchup or brown sauce. Be aware of the more limited opening hours. Definitely worth a visit in you're in that locale. Enjoy.
WOW! The Hasheggendon was so tasty! They are also selling homemade frozen pies perfect for an easy Christmas day meal! Owner and staff supet helpful and friendly. Will 100% be visiting again
We had a fantastic time at Joe's Café today. Julia was so warm and welcoming and took the time to explain some of the dishes on the menu. She was also very friendly and took an interest in us which was nice. As for the food, if we could give 6 stars we would! We had the Hashegeddon which was very, very tasty and filling - a lovely mix of fried potatoes, sausages, bacon, fried onions, cheese and eggs - Yum!!! I highly recommend this place for the great food, service and welcoming company
The food looks lovely, but I didn't try it. The drink was perfectly fine. But, my god, I have never been so physically uncomfortable in a pub! The benches around the edge all have a hard wooden lip just below shoulder height to average height shoulders, forcing you to lean forward in an uncomfortable position. The plus side side to this is that it forces you to look down upon whoever you're with on the other side of your table. This is good because you really do have to; every single chair in this place is 3-5 inches shorter than the seat height of the benches. This is bad. Whoever has the misfortune of landing on the seat will, by the end of the first drink, have an awful crick in their neck from being forced to either stare at their drinking buddy's chest, or up their nostrils! I still ache. I won't be going back.
Really great breakfast, brunch and lunch cafe, the scrambled egg and healthy brunch smoked salmon, avocado, chilli poached egg on sourdough are my faves, well worth a try! Really friendly team too, and being a bit off the beaten track it's not super crowded, just a good atmosphere. There's parking on the road outside too so it's great for anyone headed into or out of Brighton by car
Went for breakfast as were on holiday and wanted to come here all weekend! It did not disappoint. Not only was the food amazing but the staff were so friendly as well! Used to go to university in Brighton and now live back home in Dudley so I can’t believe I’ve never come here before! Will definitely be coming back
Our first trip to Brighton for 9 years and we decided we wanted to start the trip off with a delicious breakfast in a nice, independent eatery. Did a search for best breakfast spots in Brighton and Joe's Cafe came highly recommended across multiple sites. Lovely food, friendly service and reasonable prices. Lovely quality food - the bacon and sausage in particular were beautiful! Our 7 year old loved the marshmallows in his hot chocolate and apparently his pain au chocolat was so good that he insisted on taking with him the bit he couldn't finish there and then, so he could instead eat it later! We'll definitely be back! Kid-friendliness: Made our 7 year old son feel welcome - particularly the offer of marshmallows to go with his hot chocolate!
Not much of a queuing system at busy times but what a hash! I had the veggie Spanish hash with a side of beansRecommended dishesSpanish Hash, Vegetarian Hash
We've visited Brighton and surrounding areas many times over the past few years but this is the first time we've visited Joe's. I wish we'd found it sooner! The food and drinks are delicious and the staff are friendly. We will definately be back and would recommend trying one of the Hashes.
Good value for money and lovely staff ! The food is good, and there is plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. The hashes are greasy but that is exactly how they are being sold as, so no complains here! The portions are quite big, sl5 they will five you recyclable containers if you can't finish. There is different types of self service watter available too lemon, mint and plain usually as well as many different sauces. Love the place, the coffee, the food and the staff! Deffinetly recommend for a treat yourself brunch they have some discounts like student too.
