The Castle Inn advertises breakfast on Fridays from 9am. We arrived a little after 9am on a gorgeous sunny morning with high hopes for a lovely outdoor breakfast. The doors were still locked so we went around to the garden. It appeared to be maintenance day, and a very loud one at that. We were studiously ignored until we went to complain. They still weren't interested. If you're not prepared to do it - don't advertise it.

National Trust pub. Surprised to receive 10% discount.

This was recommended by a friend but tbh I didn't really think much of the roast. They forgot my crackling, we didn't want to make a fuss so just ate it and left. Very expensive for what you get. My pork was 40% pure fat. So i guess your not paying for quality. Gravy had no flavour Make sure u carry salt. I wouldn't be to quick to come back here for food.

Beautiful pub. Great food cooked with fresh ingredients. Quality consistent from starter to dessert. Also loved the friendly staff very knowledgeable around the food on the menu.
