We were so lucky to find the castle hotel. We stayed two nights and also held the wake of my dear mum there. The whole experience was excellent. From the comfortable, generous rooms too the amazing spread of food created for the wake. The evening meals and breakfasts were also to a high standard. Everyone agreed it was fantastic. But most of all the staff were so accommodating and friendly, even to our rather large dog. Thankyou to all. We will definitely be coming back.
Went for Sunday lunch with a large group of friends. Food was excellent with large portions and great gravy and stuffing. We had the library all to ourselves and staff were very attentive and friendly. Definitely would go again. Lizzie and the team were fabService: 5/5
Always a lovely atmosphere and beautifully decorated. Large selection of drinks, and food alway delicious, especially the three cheese fondue! Also fab for a quick coffee stop whilst my daughter is at dance club.Food: 4/5
We've been to The Castle a few times before and were pleased that they had availability for eight of us on Xmas Eve. We had a wait for our table to be ready, having travelled from Canterbury to get there on time. The menu wasn't the fixed price 3-course Xmas menu we were expecting, as featured on their website. And a few dishes were bought to the table that we didn't order. The restaurant was so busy & noisy overbooked maybe and the staff rushed off their feet. But they did a great job under challenging circumstances, good natured despite being under pressure. The food was very good as we've come to expect from The Castle, the wine was excellent, and the festive decorations made for a wonderful atmosphere & occasion. For reasons personal to our family, it was so important that this dinner was a success, and it was, so thank you for hosting us.
Best Sunday lunch in the southeast! Lovely little hidden gem in the middle of Eynsford Food is always excellent and service is great. The function room is also really lovely to hire out. Really recommendRecommended dishesChocolate Brownie, Sunday Roast, Three Cheese Fondue
Unfortunately the rising costs of drinks at this restaurant means that we won't visit again. The food is reasonably priced but 175ml of wine costs circa £9 for one of the cheaper wines. A shot of gin £5 plus tonic at £2.75. Tea is £5. It is too much. Shame as we have always enjoyed The Castle food.Service: 3/5
Good clean well appointed rooms with a nice bar & restaurant. Food very tasty and friendly helpful staff. I had an excellent stay.
Went for Sunday lunch, very nice food and service was great. Really busy and tight on space, plus a little noisy.Food: 5/5
The food is always excellent and we are big fans of their roast dinner. We live around 10 mins car journey away and would class this pub as our favourite. The service is always great and we always leave full, looking forward to the next visit.Service: 5/5
This place is fantastic. The property is beautiful, with lovely interiors. On entering we received a really warm welcome and really felt at home. We had a local cider and a great IPA inside and then decided to eat outside, all no problem for the great staff. We ate an absolutely incredible ploughmans and pork chop, all credit to the chef. The entire experience was perfect, we viewed the available rooms and they looked fantastic, will be coming back to stay next time! This is a family run pub and you can really feel it - there is a lovely atmosphere around the place and you can really see great trouble has been taken to ensure all the small details are perfect.
