Old fashioned traditional village pub with garden and fire and cozy atmosphere. Ideal for pre and post drinks after events such as plays and pantomimes in the village hall or even post dog walks to warm up!
Such a shame that what could have been a lovely traditional village pub, has been absolutely ruined by the cheap industrial flooring used in the main room. It’s the type of lino that is found in sport changing rooms or the men’s toilets, normally in either maroon or that soulless blue-grey interspersed with shiny flecks and dark bits they’ve opted for the soulless blue-grey here. It totally destroys the character of the pub, which has beautiful features and wooden beams etc. It was so reminiscent of a public toilet that it feels that anyone could urinate against the bar at any minute. Yet their actual toilets have a much nicer tiled floor!! You could improve this pub immediately by swapping the flooring around between the bog and this catastrophe. It makes what could be a really cosy and enticing room, about as welcoming as your first day at Strangeways. As we left, we asked why they’d done it, and were told that ‘traditionally this has always been the workers room, where they’d come after work and so the other room has the carpet while this room’s floor was easier to clean’. You never heard of ‘wood’?
Very quiet pub. Shame it didn't have any atmosphere
What a great village pub . Met some family here for a few drinks and a catch up. It was full of locals laughing and joking, lovely atmosphere. Good selection of drinks available, I had a gorgeous pint of strongbow. Very friendly staff, will definitely go back
Eynsford Running Club unofficial HQ ... Great pub and always very friendly... Decent beers too!!!
A perfect place for a pint or two. Good beer well kept.
Lovely little pub with a very nice outdoor space. The staff are very welcoming. Clean & Comfortable
Great beer, well kept and know their stuff. Friendly helpful staff and service. Would definitely recommend. They also have a great garden during these Covid times
Rudeness! Asked me to wear a mask. We have all done it and forgetting ours… I had a cloth covering my face and apologised, the server felt the need to broadcast to everyone that I need to go out because I wasn’t wearing a face mask, causing me a huge anxiety attack. Hense the reason I wasn’t wearing one in the first place, I suffer for borderline personality disorder. Yet the bar man/maid made me feel so small in the first place. Didn’t make me feel comfortable on the premises. Plus. The manager was wearing his face mask around his chin. Yet I was told to leave because of my cloth held to my mouth. Because of my mental health disorder I unfortunately had an episode which was not accommodated and therefore escorted off the premises. This establishment is not catering to children nor mental health customers. I would avoid upon this nature. If you have a hidden illness these people would see straight through and yet would not follow the guidelines themselves
a nice clean cosy pub in the winter & has a lovely beer garden in the summer. friendly clientele all year round , but the pub it self is a bit on the small side and I consider a bit pricey.
