Nice settings in the beer garden Lovely views over the Hatch Mere as seen in my pictures. Only had drinks but a nice stop off for refreshments when walking around Delemere.

16 of us arrived for a cycle ride around Delamere forest and we're met by the owner in the car park at 10 am on a Sunday morning the owner to be greeted with the fact that we could not park in their empty car park...after a heated discussion we explain that we call in for a meal and drinks after our ride and we're allowed to stay .. The meals was passable nothing special but the pints of Thwaites bitter had to be returned ...not a pleasant experience all round

We visited our once favourite pub last weekend.Once run by an elderly lady and her son , complete with a personal greeting as you entered, the personal treatment is a thing of the past.Theres a new higher priced menu, and our favourite New Zealand wine,Giddy Goose, has been exchanged for an inferior one,Southern Lights. Upon asking for the reasoning behind this we were told that Giddy Goose was a seasonal wine, I thought that very odd so checked on line to discover it isn't true, but that the one they replaced it with was half the price. The pub wasn't very warm either.again a new thing. From the generic cheap hand soap in the toilets and not the previous hand soaps and creams the extra mile seems to be in the past. They weren't busy, attending only to a birthday event in the conservatory but no-one was interested in talking. On show also where the waiting on staff were standing was a yellow mop bucket and mop, not appropriate. We chose not to eat so I can't comment on the food. Perhaps they are teething troubles, and we will revisit in the summer and sit outside as usual, taking advantage of the beautiful setting and hoping for improvements.

Not the best of places to eat. Unfortunately since being taken over standards have dropped. Always seems to be a staffing problems.
