Lovely place for food and drinks. It was a dreadful day to be out, been raining all day but being in this restaurant made the day much better. Interior is beautiful, warm and cosy. Lots of framed photos of the history of the restaurant I think. Feels like a place rich in heritage. Staff were absolutely friendly and helpful, even letting us stay till closing to play card games despite all the other guests had left, didn’t chase us away or seemed upset. Very kind of them. Food was hearty and delicious, the kind that warms your soul.
Had a great meal here, the mixed grill was spot on, couldn't fault it., really juicy gammon and steak, all was perfect. The staff were super friendly, efficient and accommodating...we came from North Wales to meet family there from Bolton and stayed until the doors were locked without realising, we were not made to feel like the nuisances we were for one second. We'll definitely be back. Well done all!
Questionable service from the blonde waitress at lunchtime today, who poured us warm glasses of wine in 25 degree heat and when we questioned, gave us a glass of ice and said ‘that’s all I can do’ along with an awful attitude. The situation was eventually rectified when I suggested myself to the other waitress, that they pour us a glass from a bottle that had been in the fridge over night, rather than the half empty one than had been out on the side in the ‘ice bucket’ for 2 hours.nnIt’s suggested that all the wine should be kept in the fridge due to the current heat. When advising the original waitress how she could have handled the situation, she was shockingly rude whilst smirking. She is really letting the pub down, as Nathan and the brunette waitress were brilliant and gave us fantastic customer service.
My girlfriend said its the best pub roast dinner she's had.nShe said it was fresh it wasn't dry hadn't been sat under heat lampsnnI disagreed lol it was definitely above average.nGood jw Lee original larger 4%nThe Manchester craft 4.7% nice toonAll in all a belter roast dinnernWill be returning next week
