I’m not one to leave reviews, but village cake lady deserves this one. I ordered an octonauts themed cake for my nephews 1st birthday a week before the occasion. This for other cakes stores I tried was too last minute and they were fully booked for the next month. However, not for village cake lady. I thank them for being accommodating and for not only producing an awesome cake which was aesthetically pleasing but also tasted great! The staff are very easy to talk to and asked for the finer details I wanted on the cake. The whole order process was seamless. I would definitely order from them again and would recommend friends to do so. We’ll done for making my nephews birthday one to remember.
Would definitely recommend. My surprise birthday cake was stunning and as it was lactose free I could indulge in more than one slice! Very tasty. My husband said he had no problems and Village Cake Lady were very helpful. Thankyou.
On Wednesday 7 November it was my sons first birthday and as parents you wanted everything to be perfect as first birthdays don’t come around all the time. My wife called around a few shops to get a cake ordered in the end we went with THE CAKE LADY on Shirley High Street in Southampton WHAT A BIG MISTAKE!!!! The cake was collected from the shop on the day by my wife and she took a look and said that’s good and left with the cake. My wife is to nice at times and is not one to complain, when I got home that day and saw the cake and I was shocked to see what had turned up. My wife saw a cake on their website which was of Mini Mouse and we wanted Mickey Mouse when ordering the cake my wife asked if it would be the same as the one on the website and was told yes. But it was not at all. I called up on the day and complained about the cake not being what we wanted and asked to speak to a manager but was told that there are not there I was not offered any sort of resolution of any kind. On Thursday 8 November i decided to go to the shop and speak to a manager. I was confronted by a lady whom straight off the bat asked what I was there for and then asked me was it me that placed the order and I replied no it was my wife. The manager then said well I am not speaking to you as my contract is with your wife well no it was not as I found out when I got back home she did not sign any contract of any sort!!. So anyway I did not get any resolution to my complaint and then had four women telling how wrong I was. There is no customer service at this place I don’t think they know what Customer Service is and they spoke to me like I was completely wrong and they was right. Very rude people no niceness at all very disappointed I should have gone with Eastleigh Cakes at least I know I would have got a good service even if I did make a complaint. I Highly recommend avoiding this place and finding an alternative cake shop see the pictures and see for yourself.
Purchased a Too good to go bag. Collection was set at 7:30pm - 8:00pm and when we arrived at 7:30pm the shop was closed. Didn’t receive any notification from the app or any contact from the app that the time was incorrect which isn’t the business’s fault. However the collection time is set by what they are informed of. We’re now without the money which I know isn’t much, but we’re also without the product purchased; which is not great customer service. Not the best first experience or impression.
Ordered via the website which was quick and easy. Communication was great. Had a text confirming my order and a phone call to say they were ready to collect. I ordered some Lamingtons and lemon cakes They taste unbelievable. Highly recommend!!
Ordered a birthday cake for my daughter. Beautiful to look at and amazing to eat. Excellent service could not ask for more would definitely recommend and shall be returning in the future. Would not go anywhere else for that special occasion.
Having been quoted £180 for a 2 tiered sponge cake from a shop in Hedge End, I decided to get a quite from the cake lady in Shirley to compare . The cake lady quoted me £75 for exactly the same cake and did not let me down . They matched the colours of my pink, gold and silver party invitation to the cake perfectly and produced a wonderful display. The bottom was a 10" vanilla sponge cake and the top was a 8" chocolate sponge and everyone at the party said it was delicious . Thank you so much to all the staff who helped me and I will certainly be using you again and have already recommended you. Top marks !
What a perfect cake and super customer service .Many thanks to Village Cake Lady. Although I called on short notice, Andreea was very understanding and accommodating with my ‘last minute planning’.  I emailed some photos of my ideas and she nailed it!!  The cake was a hit and it tasted delicious too.
Sue and her team pulled out all the stops for us for a 6 year olds birthday cake. From helping with enabling a short timescale to be achieved, through to helping with the creative side of a design and size. Prompt service, excellent cake, and not very much leftover after the party! Thank you ladies!
I've had previously cake from here but what a big difference it is now! The new management is great and they improved their quality far more! We had a pleasant surprise from the moment we picked up the cake untill the first bite! We highly recommend them! You won't be sorry choosing them!
