Four of us called in for lunch after going to The Engine House at Highley. Staff were friendly. Food was freshly cooked so there was a bit of a wait, which is to be expected when food is cooked from fresh and we were fine with that. The food was absolutely delicious. My mom and daughter are both fussy eaters but we all really enjoyed our meal. The chef came out to have a chat with us after our meal which was really nice. The prices were fair but not cheap, but not extortionate either. Good quality, freshly cooked tasty food is worth a few extra pounds in my view. And they have increasing costs to cover. If it wasn't so far away we'd definitely go back.
First visit here. Shared a v reasonably priced and v tasty lunchtime snack with my friend. Friendly, warm atmosphere. Wood burner was especially welcoming. V good customer service by Johnny. Would definitely definitely recommend to my family and friends.
The restaurant food was outstanding! We had the steak and wow, it was the best I’ve had in years! The inn is very homely with a modern twist. The bathrooms are updated and very nice. The area is quite wonderful and truly give you the countryside experience.Rooms: 3/5
Lovely bar staff, great and varied menu and delicious food. We loved the fact the chef came out when we arrived to say hello and then also asked how our food was! Would definitely return, thanksService: 5/5
Only went to the bar as have 2 dogs but great place good service behind the bar and it's become our must go place on way home. Must tell you we live on the unicorn Caravan and camping park in Hampton loade in a residential static No problem there but it's nice to visit other places xx
As soon as we saw the room we knew we couldn’t stay. The room smelled, the carpets we very dirty. The room decor was very dated and did not look clean at all. I’m surprised they have the star rating they advertise. I would say this is a 1 star accommodation at most. We handed back the key and left.
Paid a visit Monday evening on recommendation, had a bite to eat and a couple of pints. Lovely food had my first ever pint of moretti and a great pint of guinness, Prices are what you'd expect to pay at a country pub not expensive, service was good, cheerful barman and I think the landlord was in again a nice cheerful chap. After eating we sat on a lovely far too comfortable sofa in an area by the bar, in all a lovely cozy pub that also has accommodation
Great pub ,Everyone so friendly. The food is fantastic and especially Adam's steak and guiness pie. Nothing is too much trouble and the hanging baskets and views are outstanding Service: 5/5
We didn’t stay but eaten in the pub on 9/7/22 at lunch time pub was quite we ordered 2 mixed grills along with 2 pints larger shandy , we asked for barman for well done , when it arrived the plate was full of chips and peas could of fed another 2 people with the amount then underneath was a tiny piece of tasteless steak was cooked rare the one end , tiny chicken mini fillet, lamb chop was cooked rare the gammon was ok sausage was burnt, the fried egg was hard and burnt ,mushrooms had been re cooked and tasted vile! We have eaten here before and been ok but after this experience we will not be returning!!! £53.50 later for a meal that you didn’t enjoy! I definitely wouldn’t recommend!
Stopped here for Sunday lunch, we are vegan, there was sausage mash and peas, £12.99, a bit steep really, it was ok but would have been nice to have a choice.
