Windsor's only riverside pub and a quality place it is! The setting is a delight, decent drinks selection and amazing food served in a lovely glazed dedicated restaurant annex to the main pub. The pub has a good atmosphere, decor is excellent & staff very welcoming & friendly. Outstanding & highly recommended!
What a lovely, friendly and welcoming pub. Excellent food, we shared three starters between us and all were very good. Superb river views and of course, like any decent pub, this also welcomes dogs. I must say this pub has some of the nicest staff, they have an eye for detail and excellent customer service skills. Special thanks to Rose - you are a diamond xx
Beautifully set on the Thames, this establishment clearly profits from the tourists but without compromising in the kitchen. The battered haddock with chips and peas came quickly and was suitably accompanied by vinegar and sauces. The view alone will justify a visit either to get a light meal or spending a summer evening with a drink of wine or beer. Polite and quick service with a smile.
Really enjoyed our meal here in this beautiful riverside setting. They were absolutely heaving but didn’t keep us waiting. Staff were really nice and accommodating. Atmosphere was great. You absolutely have to try the Eton Mess, one of the best I ever had.
I have a pet hate about noise at restaurants - the Boatman had a vibrant atmosphere just a bit too noisy. That's just me. The lamb shoulder was exceptional. Location unbeatable. Reasonable price relatively speakingFood: 5/5
Great location by the river for lunch. Recommend the Italian meat and cheeseboard starter. Burger & Chips OK, nothing special. Burger thin and dry. :
I've had worse roast dinners out but was bland. Could see mustard on carrots and season on potatoes but couldn't taste it. Nice amount of gravy and Yorkshire was good. Lovely location, just away from tourist heavy spot right on river. Paying for location in my opinion, not worth the price but as I said, I've had worse for more money. Had a nice vibe but tables are limited to 2 hours which is a shame.
A lovely place to dine with friends and family either outside or inside the pub. The added bonus of eating outside allows you to dine beside the River Thames in Windsor with the backdrop of Windsor Castle. There is an exclusive area for larger groups in a glass faceted room that also exploits the views of the River Thames and the backdrop of Windsor Castle ideal for rainy, cold days. Overall the food is exquisite. Drinks and food are reasonably priced for the area. If you are looking for quality, tasty food this is an ideal place to feast on mouth watering food. This place comes highly recommended and if you are a foodie who enjoys food at its very best then this is definitely the place to come for a bite to eat. Plan ahead as bookings are a must so that you are not disappointed. Make sure you get the best seat outside to enjoy those views as you eat and drink.
This place was lovely from the staff to the food and service. We arrived and was seated. We asked could we move if possible inside would have been lovely to sit by the canal but our 4 year old daughter was getting cold and the gentleman sorted it no problem. The staff manager I think the lady was called Denisa I'm not 100% was our waitress and she was brilliant and catered for our daughter making it fun for her. Would highly recommend this place and would visit again without a doubt if in the area again. Thanks
Amazing food choices. Love the location and the ambience. I tried fish and chips, which anyway can't go very wrong and it didn't
