An absolutely amazing place to stay, eat and drink. Shannon was exemplary; very professional and friendly. My room was gorgeous, with a copy of Wind in the Willows, and a Swallows and Amazon's map on the wall. The shower was excellent and the bed amazingly comfortable. The restaurant / bar and terrace / garden is beautifully presented, with a great range of drinks, and with excellent food. The breakfast was perfect. Excellent friendly and knowledgeable service from all staff. My mind has gone blank, but I think his name was Ben behind the bar. A great employee. The river views are wonderful. Would highly recommend staying here, or just going for a meal or a drink. I will definitely be back. Well done to you all!
Stopped in for a Sunday lunch this afternoon. The service was great, they had extra staff so it was table service which was prompt and attentive throughout. Food was fantastic, the roast was delicious. View was delightful, it was nice watching the rowers quietly glide up and down the river as you had your lunch.
Hi, We booked ahead for Saturday early evening meal. There was a mixture of weekend walkers, early evening meals/bar drinks. The place retains a mix of old warm pub/modern bright with windows outlook on the river plus garden with outdoor table seating. Good choice of menu combining trad pub food with more adventurous with vegetarian/vegan. I had salmon with beetroot starter, fillet steak, then vegan caramel cheesecake. The food was faultless. I would return. Plenty of parking, good clean restrooms.
Nowadays for me, the deciding factor on whether I have a good night or not, isn't the food although that's important it's the service and the people. The team at this place are pretty good by any standard. Friendly, welcoming, attentive and efficient. Had a great evening, will definitely go again. Oh, and the food and drink were great too. Top marks from me.
We have just spent two nights in this beautiful Hotel, greeted by friendly staff, room was lovely a bit quirky but loved that. Had a meal in restaurant on first night, was a bit disappointed that the two meals we were looking forward to weren't available but enjoyed our second choice, this arrived very quickly and very well cooked. Breakfast was excellent, only complaint is that there was an unpleasant smell in bathroom, we did mention it to the staff on departure and they did seem aware of problem but thought it had been sorted. Would most definitely return and recommend to family.
What a great place for supper. On the banks of the River Avon in Bath. Our table was outside on the deck and had plenty of space around it. Food was delicious but what made the experience was our server Amy. Despite being short staffed she managed to overcome that challenge giving excellent and efficient service with a smile. Lovely evening
Really nice and friendly. I had a meeting with a client and everyone was very accommodating. I ordered the steak and it was perfectly cooked. Most places overcook when you ask for medium rare. This one was perfect. Staff was very attentive. Highly recommended
Staff were great and attentive to table service. I had fish and chips with crushed peas with mint for my evening meal. Tasted great but was a bit dry.The peas were too dry and tasteless so I would get mushy peas next time. I would recommend this pub and they are dog friendly too.
We held a memorial here for my mum and it was lovely. All the staff in The Boathouse were friendly, helpful and respectful of the occasion. Shannon deserves a special mention as she ensured everything went smoothly on the day.
Looks niceish from the outside but the service is absolutely appalling. Queue at the bar was ridiculous and the staff didn't seem to care preferring to chat and joke. Food order wasn't all served at the same time with extra fries taking over half a hour longer. Drinks were extortionate £10.50 for 2 third rate house lagers supposed to be Helles I don't mind paying if the quality is there but this was disgusting. The only reason for 2* rather than 1 is the seating by the river and the toilets were very clean. Definitely won't be back.
