We had a lovely evening meal at the Harvester Blacksmith’s Arms in High Wycombe. For a Thursdays night it was fairly quiet which was fine by us. The staff were polite and friendly. Food was served quickly and well presented with no issues. Overall good value for money and a pleasant experience. Kid-friendliness: No issues if you want to bring young kids. Parking: Plenty of parking next door
We visited here for late lunch early dinner: they are fully booked due to bank holiday .. I think. But all of staff are very friendly and helpful. It was a first time visit after COVID19. Staff needs to help us for salad bar : part from this all the same. We enjoyed fish and chips and ribs: And still unlimited salad:!!! Had a good time!
4-year update, as it's a chain restaurant it should meet a minimum bar, Flat soft drinks, apathetic attempts to fix it. From the manager Presentation on the meals was low, mine looked like it should come with a free toy. The zone waitress was amazing, couldn't wait her. And the here's the card machine to make a choice if I get a tip, or you can leave a cash tip. Old review 1* new review 1* Vegetarian options: They are overpriced and small portions. Probably think you will be happy at the new very limited salad bar. Parking: Some, gets quite busy might not have a space
Very disappointed with the salad bar as it was virtually empty. We were there for an hour and a half, and all they put in was some beetroot. Our waitress was very good, she was very apologetic but it was out of her control. There were lots of complaints about the food from other diners, the food was not cooked or cold. The cold desserts were served in hot dishes, so the ice cream melted before we had a chance to eat it. It will be a long time, if ever, that we go back.
The food is awful! For starters I ordered cheesy garlic bread but it came with NO cheese. When enquiring about this we were told the green stuff parsley was garlic and the crumbs on top garlic was the cheese! Hahaha!! Then came our mains……. My girlfriend ordered waffle, chicken and bacon. Disgusting. The waffle was rock solid as if it hadn’t been defrosted properly. Very very disappointing. The only good thing, my passion fruit martini and the nacho starter. Will never ever visit again.
My steak wasn't to my liking...I had explained to my server...it was chewy. Wasnt great as fat not rendered enough...had to cut off as it was hard. Not happy left loads. Why they put an oily onion bhaji on my plate beyond me. Salad great. Chef look very young...need to understand testing is key n rendering fat too. Very disappointed.
We HAD BOOKED a breakfast online for 11:30 for 3 families travelling from 3 separate locations to find out on arrival they don't do breakfasts anymore. Although it was on their website we where informed that they stopped serving breakfasts 4 months ago. I personally would make sure that this information was somewhere to be seen or taken off the website to save customers a lot time and money. We ended up staying luckily for harvester and ate from the main menu. It was as nice as always. Friendly staff and excellent service.
Met up with family for a birthday meal. Staff were friendly and helpful. But sadly on our visit, the salad bar was virtually empty, and had to ask for more. No cutlery on the table. Food was tasty for me but a couple of others was a bit over cooked. We were late in the evening and previous visits had a better experience, all be it that was a few years ago. So will keep back a star or two for when I go back.
This restaurant has dropped in standard since the last time I came here. Our table was underneath the air conditioning unit blowing cold air on our head. The choice on the salad bar was poor and ice machine broken . The floor was dirty and staff rushed off their feet trying to keep up with a busy restaurant. Poor management , the chip and pin machine was not working properly either. A disappointing evening.
Our server once seated was as attentive as she possibly could be - she was literally the only person I saw working during the whole time we were there. Breaded mushrooms were cold and watery/oily we sent them back and recieved a new set - they were better but still extremely oily and quite flavourless 2 dirty bird burgers - chicken was warm, hash browns and bacon cold. 1 sirloin steak - this was cooked as requested. Overall, a very disappointing meal, waited over 15 minutes for our table booked in Waited about 15 minutes to be served at the bar, 2 male members of staff just looked at us and walked off before a lady eventually came to serve us. Witnessed numerous members of staff walk past mess on the tables, and food waiting to be sent out - our server was trying to do the job of 3 people!
