Nobody there at the reception or manager. No one. Room was dirty and really noisy. Couldn't sleep at all. Lights was coming inside the room, I hade to cover the window with a blanket. Pillow hard like stone. So bad experience. The good point was the position of the hotel, the breakfast and the employee. One guy especially did help us a lot, show us where to go and was really kind also with other customers. Really kind and professional. A part of that. No manager at all.
The Hotel was clean, rooms serviced nicely and breakfasts outstanding. The staff lea by Kat were very pleasant to us, warm and welcoming We stayed here for 20 nights And would choose to stay again Rooms: Compact clean and tidy Quiet Walkability: So accessible to rail station and Canterbury Cathedral and town Noteworthy details: Value for money without compromising comfort
It was fine! Not cozy like I expected from the pics. There was nobody at reception or anywhere when we arrived at 2pm lol it was a ghost town. I wanted to ask someone about breakfast so I ended up calling and the lady who answered seemed confused tbh. The room was fine ! We were on the top floor and you can hear everybody moving around the hotel so got woken up a few times in the night. Breakfast was chaotic but did the job ! I probably wouldn’t choose to stay here again tho, it felt like a hostel.
Wonderful stay. Room was very comfortable. Traditional B&B full of character. Great service at breakfast timeRooms: 5/5
I had the tiny basement room. Which is fine is a single but would have been too small to share. The room was clean, apart from the extractor fan in the toilet needs a clean. The fridge works a little too well, freezing me drinks? We had 4 rooms in total, the others were bigger and used by 2 persons each. The beds are in between a single and a double size, so you must be comfortable with the person sharing. Each room was different but the bigger rooms more spacious and lighter. The staff were very friendly, although I think the breakfast lady could make her mind less chaotic if she wrote things down, maybe? But very sweet. Another tip would be to put a toaster in the breakfast area, that would safe effort and time rather then get toast done by the kitchen staff. And maybe some boiled eggs out with the continental breakfast. The English breakfast was okay. Tasty, but by English standards a small portion. Tiny sausage, again nice but not a proper English Breakfast sausage. It's charming though. Just people like the rude man who came out shouting at 9am that the breakfast chatter should really not book such a place. We felt sorry for the staff having to deal with that. It's an heritage building with wooden floors and room adjacent to the breakfast area, so to that guy: bring earplugs if you want to sleep in or book elsewhere if you cannot cope with people being up when breakfast is served. Very fair pricing, I would probably book again. Location is perfect walking distance from everything a tourist wants to see.
Nice quirky b&b.converted tradiyuonal pubb.nicely decorated.spotlessly clean.friendly staff. One minor criticism I was there early December and the building was very cold.an enjoyable stay though.
Very friendly staff, plentiful breakfast which we enjoyed in the beautiful garden. The bedroom was clean and the additions of paintings was a nice touch. The bathroom was small but clean and fully functional. Affordable place to stay and I was able to book at very short notice.
The service from the owner was amazing. Jenka couldn't of done more for us, she was very friendly and helpful. We were well looked after and breakfast was amazing every morning. The rooms were nice and cozy with very comfortable beds, we enjoyed our time in Canterbury and this hotel wasn't far from ideal locations.
Second time staying here for work trips, this time tucked up in the attic. Well placed for cycling out of the city on the nearby paths, and for station. The self check in system is well thought out, I liked the postcard with directions to the room. The room was compact but well laid out. The bathroom had a proper bath squeezed in! The cafetière and proper coffee much appreciated, as was the fridge, great for keeping packed lunches fresh. There’s also a microwave and plates left in the dining room so you can have a takeaway/ready meal for dinner, a great touch. I did manage to set off the alarm while having a bath think there was a leak from the overflow but the manager came quickly to turn it off . Nice breakfast too
Friendly, affordable, unpretentious guest house in easy reach of Canterbury West Station and walking distance to the town centre. Room was quiet and very comfortable, the fridge, kettle, fresh coffee and cafetière were welcome additions. Bathroom small, but excellent shower. Breakfast was plentiful. Thank you to all the staff for a very happy stay, we would visit again
