Story

Here at The Black Cat Bistro we serve French inspired home-style cuisine, sourced locally, seasonally and ethically.We pride ourselves on making everything in house, with a small kitchen staff working hard to ensure the best quality dishes are served to our customers.

Our menus are based on seasonal produce, with an evening menu which changes week on week, according to availability of ingredients. We are happy to say that our suppliers are local to the restaurant, ensuring high-quality, locally sourced meals on your plates.

The other half suggested this place for a nice little valentines lunch. Quaint little restaurant hidden next to the nook in holmfirth. Menu sounded delicious. We both had soup to start, I had seabass from the special board. He had steak. Food arrived quickly, was really well presented and absolutely beautiful. Service was excellent and prices very reasonable. Will definitely be returning.
I've been here a few times now. Amazing food, friendly service and a special place to dine out for both lunch and/or dinner. I can't fault the food - it's delicious! I love how they change the menu each Wednesday to reflect the local produce they buy in that week - great idea! I'm sure I'll be back again!
This is a lovely little venue, tucked away in the heart of Holmfirth. Friendly, attentive staff create a welcoming atmosphere and the food is stunning! Beautifully presented plates of fresh, locally sourced produce, interesting flavors and a regularly changing menu. If you don’t live in the area ..and I don’t, this is definitely worth a trip out. You won’t be disappointed!
We attended the Vegan evening last night 1 plant eater, 1 vegetarian, 1 devoted meat eater and all enjoyed it equally! Such a lovely local restaurant, the staff and the food is fabulous. Everyone should support this amazing local business!
Went here randomly for a cup of coffee for breakfast. Ended up having probably the finest breakfast I've ever had. Lovely place, super staff and stunning food. I can't wait for an excuse to go back to holmfirth just to go here again for dinner though this time.
Love the general ethos of the place, but half of our part of four were left disappointed with their pricey meal. They tried to remedy the situation with a free dessert. Maybe it was a bad menu that week, but it's defintely put us off returning.
Having wandered the world and eaten in a myriad of restaurants, it's the personal touches, homely atmosphere and mind blowingly divine cuisine of the Black Cat Bistro that makes it the superior choice for chowing down. Quite easily my best dining experience to date.
Went here for lunch and it was delicious, lunch menu looked a bit sparse and quite vegan/gluten free orientated but I had the croque monsieur and it was really tasty. Not a huge place only 6 or 7 tables but great for a quick bite
Sophie and Liam catered for my son and his wife at their wedding venue. I can only praise them for their professionalism, their catering abilities and their personal skills in creating a very relaxed atmosphere where nothing was too much trouble. A day to remember. Thank you so much.
Mussels night! Table of 3. Excellent value for money. Great service & great food. Best Aioli had in a long time as well! Going back in Dec for the next one!
