Rustic holiday accommodation in the Yorkshire Dales. We have 6 round cut tree lodges, 8 meadow yurts & a bunk barn, not forgetting the lovely bistro cafe.

Story

The accommodation is rustic, rugged, characterful and sensitive to woodland and natural surroundings; inspired by the sheep sheering shacks of New Zealand and the woodland shelters of ancient Britain. It is luxury, with attention to detail, warmth and comfort.

Guests can choose simplicity and quiet reflection or engage in activities that are active, unusual and creative.

Mission

The Bivouac serves the community; doors are open all day, with facilities for children, families and groups. Where possible, food is organic and locally sourced. Everybody’s welcome; the space is sensitive to the needs of the elderly and less able bodied.

The Bivouac is environmentally sensitive; designed to have a light footprint and pursue environmental best practice. It will encourage ethical discussions through clear environmentally-driven decisions.
