Amazing food, we did the 10 course surprise tasting menu, each course showcased what an amazing chef Keith is. The highlight of the evening was on the final course when Keith joined us, speaking with Keith you know how passionate the man is about his cooking, really looking forward to our next adventure in The Bay Tree Bistro
Atmosphere is excellent. Presentation of the food is good or OK. Seevice and timing excellent.
Great fine dining experience with a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere - ideal for a treat, special occasion or if you want to impress. Majority of ingredients are locally sourced and there is a real focus on quality and creating a dining experience. Very accommodating for different dietary requirements too.
Fine dining at it's best. Each delicious course brought a new and exciting joy to the taste buds. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant there was an air of relaxation and the warm welcome from the staff gave an immediate feeling of being cared for as a customer. This was a special birthday meal so the focus from this restaurant on creating quality in all areas made our dining there an absolute treat. Mega congratulations to chef and owner Keith Boyle and team for bringing to Waterford a dining experience which can stand alongside the best food establishments both in Ireland and Internationally for quality, taste, presentation, passion and customer service. Only 5 stars will do for the wonderful 'The Bay Tree Bistro'. When in Waterford or looking for a special place to eat put it on your list as a must to book.
Sorry about this we had a table booked for Saturday night arrived on time went to the bar and to be fair to the poor lad there there were a few tables waiting to be seated for dinner . But he could not cope with the bookings he was struggling big time to get all our drinks out . Felt sorry for him I suppose. We went up stairs and waited and waited eventually bread was taken to our table and an hour and a hall later we got out starter. Very small portions very tasty but small. We waited again for main course for a long time eventually arrived very nice and tasty. Girls were very present but service was. Very slow. Looked forward to going but sadly to say we won't return. Sorry really we are
Been here a couple of times since opening. The first time was lovely really enjoyed it but recently have found the food is not of the same quality it was at the beginning. As it states on menu the portion sizes are small which is acceptable when the food is of a high standard but unfortunately this was not the case when we last visited, the risotto was completely unseasoned and bland , the extra course inbetween starter and main which is why your main course is much smaller, doesnt quite make up for the tiny portions of meat on your main course, also found them bland and mainly carb based. The mallard for the main course two slivers was over cooked to the point it tasted like liver. The desserts were also a let down the peanut butter one was like something from a packet and Apple tartin was under cooked and not tasty. Service and atmosphere are lovely it's a pity the food has let the place down
One of the nicest meals I have had in a very long time. From start to finish it was superb. All of the staff were excellent. The entire experience made my night
Serving somewhere between haute cuisine and traditional food, the Bay Tree Bistro does a fairly decent job - but not the best for this one needs to visit Dungarvan or Dublin. In this respect, the price is just a little too high. However, the staff were immensely friendly and the wine selection great.
If I could give 10 stars I would. One of the best dining experiences EVER. Every course was an artistic statement, not to mention the perfection of the layers of flavors in every bite. We will return.
Lovely building, great professional service, and nice food but overpriced as you'll likely have to get a takeaway afterwards as the servings are so miniscule. This is ironic as it was poised to take over from The Tannery in Dungarvan as the most popular local region fine dining venue jas The Tannery has completely fallen from it once was.
