Great find in Burnham on Sea Chip Shop.

Choice of cod,  haddock and plaice and all the accompaniments. Quick order and haddock fried to order.  Also available are cold drinks and only thing missing is to be able to sit down and eat but that's a minor thing.

Excellent double large haddock and chips from The Battered Fryer on the 2nd February.  Highly recommended.  I always use this fish and chip shop when I go to Burnham-on-Sea.

I've enjoyed fish and chips from here for years. They're great, but tonight the lack of hygiene in the kitchen had me walking back out and put off for life. I thought it was just common sense to wash your hands after your grabbed hold of a rubbish bin containing goodness knows what waste, alas it seems this is not the case. I watched the guy handle the bin with bare hands then without washing them touch utensils, the towel that seemed to be both for drying utensils and wiping services and then he had his hands, unwashed in a bowl that then had (what I assume was) scampi placed in it. When I asked if they could get him to wash his hands before he handles anything else I was given blank looks so I left. If they can't handle such a simple food hygiene concept I dread to think how lax they are on the stuff you can see. I don't know whether it is just a disregard for food hygiene or ignorance but I will not be eating there again. Incidentally I went to robs in Highbridge instead and am currently enjoying a delicious meal.

Absolutely delicious! The chips and haddock were amazing. Definitely the best we have tasted. The fish melted in the mouth & the chips were so tasty.   My 15 year old son even commented how nice the chips and battered sausage tasted.
