Great pizzas and lovely staff. We were so well looked after and had a fantastic time. Thank you! Explicitly dog friendly!
With closing at 6pm on a sunny Sunday, I arrived at the bar at 5.18 to be firmly told that last orders had been called at 5.15 and I was therefore refused service. 45 minutes seemed a ridiculously long ‘drinking up time’ particularly as I explained that we were due elsewhere at 6. I shall not be troubling the bar staff again.
Fantastic! Great food, super garden. Service is excellent. The new garden is looking really good. Had a group of 11 of us on Sunday and they couldn't have been more helpful. Thank you.Service: 5/5
Laughably small portions and a weirdly long wait to pay our lunch bill put us off this place- even though the garden is lovely and the food tasted fine. The soup bowls main portion were so small they literally gave us teaspoons. Imagine running a kitchen and not knowing there's already a soup spoon...
Simply brilliant. If you run a pub and want to know what excellent looks like... visit the Baskie. Friendly, warm and efficient staff combine with a great chef and now a really lovely garden. It's outstanding.
Friendly welcome and a beautifully landscaped garden. Staff were excellent and service was prompt. Not many vegetarian options, and other items that had sold out meant a slightly reduced menu. Otherwise very good.
Delicious food and incredibly friendly service. What more could you want? The whitebait was some of the best I'd tasted - unexpected for somewhere which is about as far away from the sea as you could be! The venison burger had incredibly deep and robust flavour. Worth booking a table in advance especially if you are walking from Henley as this place is often very busy.
Had an enjoyable birthday dinner here. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive, the place is nice and good range of dishes on the menu. Had the cod fritters to start and although they were tasty, couldn't taste much cod and no sign of the Anchovies. My main was the lamb, which was enjoyable but didn't taste particularly fresh, more like it had been cooked in advance and reheated. All in all a good night, but did end up feeling that the food needed just a little more effort to nudge it from good to great.
We had an absolutely fabulous Sunday lunch here. It was the first time we had been able to see family for nearly two years and we sat in a huge Beduin tent surrounded by wonderful rugs and cushions, sofas and low tables. The atmosphere is brilliant. AND ... the best part was that I had the best roast lunch I've had for years! In fact we were all delighted with the food, the ambiance, the surroundings and the service. 5*
Comfortable and clean but lacking in luxury. We were provided with 1 cup for drinking with, we had to ask for towels, no tea bags, we had to ask for a jug of milk but given no fridge to store it in and therefore ended up off, very cold, and very noisy. Doesn't quieten down until about 12.30am. Staff very noisy after it closed. Breakfast nice but limited menu and if the kitchen is closed you are offered croissant or yogurt only. No fruit or cereal on offer. Will not return.
