After a long walk on a Sunday morning this is a great place to stop for food and a drink. A real open fire to warm you up friendly staff. Lots of dog walkers in with their pets.

We were at the Barton Arms for an after the ceremony(cremation) get together just before Christmas. The atmosphere was very cosy and buzzing but they had alocated us a section at the far end of the bar. We were well looked after even though it was a very busy Friday afternoon. The food buffet was plentiful and varied. The red wine my husband got for me was lovely. He just asked for a red wine do presumably it was the 'house ' wine .whatever it was very nice. In fact by the end of the afternoon we had all enjoyed it so much we felt like we had had a Christmas party rather than a wake. I really want to go again and take some friends. I wonder if you have to book for Sunday lunch? I must ring and find out.

Good place, great choice of beers. Food OK, service average. Staff reasonable. Could do with a lick of paint. Apart from that it's a good place.

Barton Arms is a good lunch time venue best thing they have an indoor dog area x staff are friendly x
