Disappointing. Having been to many a pub and living in the UK, I can say with some experience that I do not recommend this place if you’re looking for good food. A drink? Sure! But food…stop at the co-op around the corner and reheat it yourself. The lasagna and pizza were 100% frozen food from the store, reheated and put on a nice plate. Not even the good frozen food, but the cheapest of cheap and marked up high. I’m so disappointed. The steak pie may have been made here, but isn’t worth having again. As for service, our waitress was nice but the food took quite some time to reheat more than 30 minutes, to microwave… and it wasn’t busy. Skip this place and save your money if you’re wanting some good pub food.

Good pub food experience. The staff are friendly. Dog friendly. We went for both lunch and dinner. No complaints.

This was a lovely pub just an eight-minute drive from where we were staying in Ballater. I called ahead to check what time they were serving food until, and the gentleman who answered was friendly and polite. He kindly reserved a table for my husband and me.nnThe pub itself was warm, relaxed, and homely, without being overcrowded. They even had a pool table, which was a nice touch. The staff were all lovely and polite, and the food was brilliant. I had the steak pie with chips and vegetables, and my husband had the lasagne with garlic bread and salad. The prices for both food and drinks were very reasonable and well worth the money.nnI would highly recommend this pub to anyone looking for a great meal in a welcoming atmosphere. I will definitely return if I’m ever back in Scotland again.

I loved my fish and chips.  The haddock was super crunching and the chips were perfection.  They allow dogs in there on a leash so be aware of that.  It was totally cool with me but some people may be afraid of dogs.  Service was good but a little slow.  Overall I really enjoyed myself.

Most delicious steak pie, very generous portion and the best sticky toffee pudding I’ve ever had! Absolutely delicious and some of the best food we ate during our holiday in the Cairngorms. Good service, happy atmosphere and very good value for money. Would highly recommend
