The Balloon Tree Farmshop & Cafe

This Farm shop is superb, on the left hand side of the building is a lovely cafe with ample seating area and good for kids and dogs. On the right hand side of the building is the farm shop with excellent selection of groceries and plenty of top quality meat. They also sell hot sandwiches and the pork sandwiches are to die for with the crackling, apple sauce and stuffing on you can't go wrong. Then outside of the farm shop there is a field, during the summer picking berries etc.. then come October time pumpkin time, great place to go with your kid and get them to pick the Halloween pumpkin. A lovely place with friendly staff and decent prices for the quality of the food etc.. Will be going back to this place.

We came here to pick strawberries and raspberries with my 1 year old son and the sheer vastness of the fields was a pleasant surprise. Plenty of beautiful berries to be picked despite the obvious popularity of the place. The fruit was absolutely delicious and a glorious colour! We paid just over £12 for a large punnet of strawberries and a small raspberries which is more than supermarket prices but the price was definitely worth it and on par with the quality, as well as the experience of picking your own. If you go to the tea room be prepared to spend money. We had 1 kid’s sandwich, 1 toasty, 1 chips and 2 coffees and it was close to £30 which although the food was nice, it was a little too expensive for the portions given. The farm shop is absolutely beautiful and have a range of unique and interesting produce and lovely gifts. The range of preserves was amazing and the deli was extremely appealing.

I visited the cafe with friends of mine and was very happy with the experience. I had a full English breakfast which was lovely. There was a bit of a mix up with our order but this was quickly sorted and we were offered a drink as an apology which was nice. Enjoyed some cake after - absolutely delicious! They have a great range to choose from and they all looked gorgeous but in the end I went for a cheesecake which was light and yummy.

Excellent farm shop. The restaurant is fantastic. Food is outstanding. We have had the sandwiches and the Sunday roast dinner. We had the apple and rhubarb crumble. Delicious. Good prices.

Lovely Café and Farm shop just off the A166 at Gate Helmsley. Quality food and drink in lovely surroundings and plenty of outdoor seating for dining out on those hot summer days. Also plenty of tables inside if outside is not for you. Not the cheapest, but it is quality food so you get what you pay for! Very popular, so expect a small queue at busy times. Definitely worth a visit!

I came across this place on a trip back from Filey. It is a little gem of a place, with good breakfast and lunch options. The bacon was really good quality. I also had a cappuccino which was well made and full of flavour from the coffee beans. The onsite farmshop had a good range of local products and plenty of pumpkins for this time of year

Safe, clean, yummy, fresh, lovely staff. Loved my coffee, food. Love my veg and fruit and all purchased things from farm shop. My girl rode with hubby on little track, £3. I love this place and always come back

Lovely cafe though always busy. I love their quiche usually but this one was pretty tasteless, disappointingly. I suppose pea shoots, pine nuts aren't particularly flavoursome in a quiche and the apricots just added a shot of sweetness. The portion was very small too. My husbands ham and eggs was lovely, perfectly cooked golden eggs and plentiful ham. Great service and value. The farm shop is luxurious and filled with delicious, though expensive, goodies. Delighted to find aubergines, having searched the area for some!

Had lunch today with family 5 of us. The site was extremely busy with pumpkin pickers but everything was well organised. Queue for a table in the cafe but it was well worth it. Food was superb. Staff were excellent and not stressed by the huge number of customers. Highest praise to everyone.
