We finally visited this Sunday and had honestly the best meal I’ve had in a pub/restaurant for a while. The vegetables and potatoes were made perfectly, the sauce was flavourful, mash creamy, the meat juicy and perfectly done, I was impressed. The staff is very nice as well and they have a good selection of gins, wines, and other drinks. I will definitely be coming here again.
A great pub serving great Sunday roast & beer! Be sure to make a reservation early to avoid disappointment as they were fully booked by 1pm they open at noon by the way.
We had a lovely dinner after a long day exploring. We enjoyed a filet, the halibut and venison. Our only complaint is that some portions of the dishes were salty like the spinach and my sauce. The ambiance was lovely and the flavors were great. Service was great
Can get better burgers from Honest Burgers down the road… only one pickle…really? to top it off it was hard like a stone ! Cocktails are definitely not their forte. Stressed, miserable, rude staff.. perhaps if you employed more staff to cater for your “busy venue” they would have a better attitude!
The Anglesea Arms is a traditional pub located in the South Kensington area of London, UK. The pub is housed in a historic building that dates back to the 19th century and has a warm and inviting atmosphere. The pub features a range of drinks options, including a selection of real ales, craft beers, and wines. There is also a food menu that features a range of classic pub dishes, such as fish and chips, burgers, and Sunday roasts. The menu is designed to showcase seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, and there are vegetarian and vegan options available. The interior of the pub is cozy and comfortable, with exposed brick walls, wooden floors, and a roaring fireplace in the colder months. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available, with a charming beer garden that is popular during the summer months. Overall, The Anglesea Arms is a great option for those seeking a traditional pub experience in a charming and historic setting. The pub's range of drinks and food options, combined with its warm and inviting atmosphere, make it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike.
Sold us beers, and five minutes later said they were closing and everyone had to leave. EDIT: I understand that you have to close at a specific time. My point is that you could have mentioned that we couldn't stay to drink up when we ordered them.
Service was friendly, if a little slow, but the vibe on a lazy Sunday with locals showing up for a roast is hard to beat. Great roasts, scotch eggs and avocado fries ! in a cozy and relaxed environment. The vegan rosy was a highlight!
We had a Sunday roast here last weekend. It was brilliant as always, if anything the food has gotten better with Covid. Desert was a real highlight - the sticky toffee pudding is amazing. The people watching here is also enjoyable. Highly recommended.
The worst meal I have been served in a decade. Yorkshire pudddings cooked to the point where they were indistinguishable from coal, porchetta treated to the same delicate touch, and fish and chips where the fish was chewy and boiled, and the frozen chips had been cooked to the point where they could break teeth. Avoid.
Very busy, with limited seating as they closed half of it for diners. Poor service and the bar was soaking wet where people had spilt drinks no one bothered to clean it up. Menus were soaked so I used blue roll to dry one up.
