Constant issues with home deliveries. Huge selection of products regularly unavailable, deliveries are often late and some don't even turn up with no explanation given.
Have been a loyal customer of Tesco for years but will never return.

The good news is that the store boasts 24hr opening. Unfortunately, the good stuff in grocery has disappeared from the shelves during the late afternoon, and if you turn up after 6 you will be hard pressed to do anything remotely like a full shop, and even that will give you little or zero choice when it comes to popular or fresh items. Pizza - forget it. Deli counter? Nope. Salads? Ha! Milk? Hobson's choice! Rotisserie Chicken? Long gone. Store baked Bread or fresh cakes? Also gone. Pre-packaged only. I guess they hope that you will just buy the premium substitutes instead.
If it's an accessory for your phone or PC that you want, you will probably have to collect it from the cubby hole/service desk at the back of the shop. This closes at 8pm. On the plus side the guy in the mobile phone shop next to there really knows his stuff, and goes the extra mile when it comes to dealing with customers or providing good customer service. Much nicer than trying to deal with the "big name" mobile phone firms, and the Tesco contract is much fairer than most.
There are self-scanning check outs only if you shop in the evenings.
Staff are very friendly and helpful, without exception. You really do get a warm welcome and service with a smile. And staff are about in the shop if you have a question. Some supermarkets are seemingly staffed by ghosts, so rare are the employees seen.
There is cheap petrol on the site, a "click and collect" drive through cabin and an ATM cash machine. Bus links look good, and there is a taxi phone too for customer use.
There is a Café, but I've not tried it, it's always closed when I go to Tesco. The takeaway sandwiches are expensive, so you will nearly always find stuff there even very, very late. Watch out for the case hardened, pre-formed concrete pasties next to them. Eat one of those at your peril!
Prices vary a lot at Tesco. You can get a good deal on quite a few items, but overall the "pile it high, sell it cheap" motto is just ancient history now. It's no longer a noticably cheap store. In fact, I was surprised to see that some of the ready meals were priced quite a bit higher than the superior quality meals in the Marks and Spencer Food shop nearby.
So three stars. If you shop in the daytime and don't mind dozy crowds who often seem to be starting the "Zombie Apocalypse" then it's a four star store, but if you want a geniune 24 hour shopping experience then it has to be ASDA. And if you want better value, then it's Aldi or Lidl, of course. In fact there is an Aldi in plan for the local area right now. My wife and neighbours can hardly wait! 😁

rather a frantic shopping experience, and they had run out of goat butter. The cafe was good and reasonable and I had a tasty though small omelette with mushrooms.

How can so many selfish people be in the same place at once!!! I stood to the side so people with prams, pushchairs and big trolleys could get passed and not one said Thank you or even smiled, manners are free, but at the same time priceless, also I left without buying anything because it was so hot I had to go outside before I passed out!!!
