We arrived around 2pm hungry and thirsty. The cafe was less than half full and despite counting seven members of staff, the place was a disgrace to the Marks and Spencer’s name. When I think of Marks and Spencer’s I think, clean, good quality service and standards. None of this was seen here. The tables that weren’t occupied were filled with dirty plates and debris. The numerical cardboard stands were still left on occupied tables that had already received their food and frankly, the whole place looked chaotic. 
The light lunches were very expensive and very average, my toaster was barely brown on one side. The tea was only just drinkable having struggled out of the pot and accompanied with just enough milk - served in the most ridiculously small jug. 
When the staff did venture out from behind the counter to bring hot food they did not pick up any dirty plates or attempt to clean tables down. 
I have never seen such a disorganised establishment and we will certainly not return. I am amazed how other customers tolerate such shocking service and I cannot believe they can enjoy such a poor experience.

Good sized food hall with lots of M & S goodies and a few extras for whenever you want to get a present for someone (cards, paper, flowers etc). Good selection of fresh and prepared produce as well as treats both sweet and savoury... Not just nibbles but M & S. Nibbles!

Although the food hall is a good size and good stock availability the cafeteria was terrible. Dirty unswept floors, tables dirty with plates left for flies to land and feast on the left overs. The bench seats dirty, dusty and bits of sticky tape to cover tears, the ledge behind the seats thick with dust.
This made pur experience with the visit not a good one.
The cafeteria looked under staffed.
