Brilliant old pub in a quiet rural setting. Still has many of the old features. Good selection of beers, excellent food and friendly staff. Plenty of seating indoors and outside to the front. Small garden to the rear.
One of my favourite places to go out for lunch on a rare day off. Lovely characterful building, especially cosy on a cold winters day next to the fire and equally as lovely in the summer in their garden. Food is good wholesome homemade cooking. Very generous portions and excellent value for money. Always come away in a food coma!! Steaks cooked to perfection and the gammon, egg and chips is a fave. Would love to come and try their Sunday roast but unfortunately always working at the weekend….maybe one day. Looking forward to my next visit!
Most of our food was good - a nice pie, and a nice steak. Losing a star for the lasagne which didn't have any cheese sauce on it. The beer was interesting local bitter, probably not shifting quite enough for the best freshness, but not far off.
Traditional pub. Little car park out front across the road. Road can be busy but that doesn't spoilt the atmosphere of the pub. Food simple but not expensive. Makes a nice change from pricey gourmet meals. Dogs welcome inside and in the front garden.Food: 4/5
Lovely pub in the Dartmoor area. Warmly welcomed and had 2 delicious beers. Food menu was extensive with home made dishes. Very tasty!Food: 5/5
First off when we got in there the lady behind the bar believe her name was Sandra as a customer called her that was so unwelcoming. She gave a horrible first impression and I could understand if she was busy but she spent most of the time messing with her phone. My food was nothing special and a small piece of pie, mash and peas. The person I was with said the curry was nice though. I won't be rushing back.
Great menu, something for everyone. Lovely specials board. Great beer, friendly staff and, of course, views to die for over Dartmoor. Beer gardens, dog friendly. The building and it very long history is worth a read on the information about the place.
Food was terrible, very basic. Lasagne was horrible mushy and watery, burger and chip no side salad or salad in the burger. Land lady didn't look very cheerful not very welcoming when we arrived.Food: 2/5
Great spot for a treat and relaxing after a long walk. Very friendly customer service and cooked on point gammon steak with egg. Seriously good. Certainly will be back!
We had a wonderful meal at this cosy local pub. There were three of us and we each had a different meal - all great and good value. Sat outside in the early evening sunshine and thoroughly enjoyed our visit - highly recommend!!!
