A pleasant restaurant with a very charming owner/waiter. We arrived at 6.30pm and were the only customers there but by the time we left it was packed! The food was very good with just the right amount of spiciness and garnishing. It was a shame that one of the rice dishes contained a fibre of metal, most likely from a scourer that the person who put the rice did not notice. He did not charge us for this dish although I felt he ought to have apologized to my Mrs who could have swallowed it by mistake! After this incident he seem anxious to get us out as quickly as possible. After finishing our meal he told us that he didn't have any desert's! This charming owner had told us he been there for 25 years! Maybe I should have have made it obvious to all the diners that he didn't have any desserts by saying " great food and I was so looking forward to the dessert! A pity you don't have any". Another thing to watch out for is the rather small portion sizes compared to what he was charging. I was a little disappointed as we have a local restaurant called Elachi which is very comparable and the portion sizes are much better.
The best Indian restaurant in the area by far, amazing as a take away and made even better eaten at the curry house. Smiley restaurant owner always there to please.
Excellent restaurant! Lovely, welcoming staff who accommodated us coming in late in the evening. The Dulwich Kofte with lamb was perfectly cooked with flavourful sauce. Tasty bhajee, fluffy rice and soft roti. Relaxed atmosphere and staff let you enjoy your evening. Highly recommend! And they catered to a dairy allergy!
A great neighbourhood Indian restaurant with lovely staff and reliably delicious food.
This was our favourite Indian takeaway in the area but we ordered it last night and it has gone considerably downhill. I wouldn't even recognise it as the same food. Naan and rice were nice but curries were really dry, no sauce at all, v random veg included... Ugh, not good
Authentic, homely Indian food coupled with great service! Anwar Bhai who manages the place is courteous and helpful, makes the overall experience of dining at this restaurant even better : We have already visited this place thrice in 2 weeks and will come back again before we leave!
So pleased Tandoori Nights is back in action! We had a fantastic meal - our first out of lockdown - in the restaurant. Food as good as ever and the two outdoor tables get a nice amount of evening sun, making the alfresco dining experience rather pleasant. The awning also means you're protected from the elements. It's a fun spot to people watch on Lordship Lane. Very Covid-secure experience, all staff wore masks and tables a good distance away from each other. Dishes a cut above other local curry houses with quality, fresh ingredients. Really happy this local gem is open again.
Fresh and delicious curry off Lordship Lane. Very tasty food and lovely service, would highly recommend if in the area. Will definitely come back again.
We ordered a whole chicken and recieved a small portion. Not enough for two. They charged us £40. They said we ordered a small portion but still charged us £40. Outrageous £40 for two sides and two naans.
The food is amazing here. The service is great. Best Indian restaurant on lordship Lane. Only downside is they don't don't deliveries : however when I spoke to the owner about this his reason was more than understandable. He simply does not want to compromise the quality of the food cooked. I wish more restaurants had that mentality
